having had the same problem, where neither the ubi support account worked, nor the account registration, i have now been able to log in.Originally posted by Blaze.45:
My fix.
I just bought and installed this game on Steam. I tried to register a name to play, but got this error.
So... after reading about this WIDESPREAD problem for a while...
I just went to the Ubisoft support site and registered an account on the website. Then went in game and used that same login and viola!
It works now.
p.s. its a steam game, why do i have to bother remembering yet another pointless account?
Just downloaded and installed on steam. Why do they have a stupid *** requirement to login to play single player campaign. Very disappointing... as clearly, my UBISOFT login works...the game just "can't connect to account servers"....it's been a longggg time since this problem started...you keep servers going to play but you can't make a fix to make it playable?
Ok, so I successfully negotiated the crash that prevented me from launching the game now I have this account access problem. I've run through all the options in this forum to no avail. I've now gone to the extreme of disabling my Firewall and placed myself on my router's DMZ list. The hosts file is the windows default and I've even run the flushdns (try running CMD in admin mode if you get stuck on this peeps - had this problem earlier).
So there is obviously something not quite right going on and seriously UbiSoft, do we really need to be IT administrators to play your game?
Bottom line, still can't play - which is quite galling since I bought two licences so we could multiplay today!
Mr_Shade, could you post on the front page of the forums the link to the server status page for people - it's not the easiest thing to find?
my game is still not working this is my driver file thing
really annoying that this is still not working. I opened up the following ports like i was supposed to# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.

and i even flushed all the dsn files.. why is it still not working!! I want my money back take your stupid game.
when your ready to release a game that doesnt need internet like this maybe il buy it
I just bought this game off of Steam. I was under the impression that this game would not use the Ubisoft DRM system. As a matter of fact that is the ONLY reason I even considered looking at it. I automatically ignore all games that use it. Now after buying it I find out that it does in fact use this POS system that treats me like a criminal but it also DOESN'T WORK!
So now I am out $20 and I can't get the game to connect to the ubisoft account server. I have disabled my firewall, turned off virus protection and I can't even ping the server. Every other aspect of my system works fine. Every other game I have works just fine.
I am going to pursue a refund through Steam and I promise you I will never buy another Ubisoft product for as long as you are in business which I doubt will be very much longer.
all you have to do is register with www.rusegame.com. i registered and loged directly in threw steam. you cant register off of steam you have to do it directly threw ruse's site =] add me on steam kemist33
I just bought ruse on sale on steam, ive tried all the fixes that ive found,
opened ports, flused-dns turned off virus protection/firewalls and some other stuff, But im still getting the "Could not communicate with account server whenever i try too login or create a account in-game,
And yes ive created a account on ubi.com and ive checked that its working,
im quite tired so might have missed something
Im running win7+intel i5+HD5770 and ive played the beta without any flaws,
So if anyone can help me, then please feel free too say something
I dont know why i bother putting this up, i know its not the problem but i guess its worth a shot. Can't be network on my end cus i have a roommate who plays ruse just fine. i cant believe this has been a problem for almost 2 years. if logging in is the problem, why the hell havent they changed the way you login? Why not only login if you play online? If i just want to play the campaign, how is it that i need to connect to the damn internet?!!?
