It may just be me, but Ezio and the assassin's don't seem that bothered about the lose of the Apple. I mean, after the Battle of Forli it took him twelve years, yes, twelve, to make his way from Forli to Florence and retrieve the Apple from Savonarola's hands.

This is compounded by the fact that Ezio found out within a few hours of his recovery that Savonarola was in Florence, yet he still believed it to be more important to aid Christopher Columbus in ACII before retrieving the Apple. Now, I fully understand that the developers have to fit things in with history and dates and whatnot, but come on.

    Personally, I find it humorous.

If you read the book it explains it much better, he spends the 12 years looking for who took the Apple and tracking them down, the game shortens this.
