What's your system specs? More than 1GB Vram on your GFX card?Originally posted by Von_Rat:
it runs just fine for me and it looks fantasic.
heck even over london with multiple planes and everything cranked to the max (except buildings, which i have on high instead of very high) i still managed low 20s avg. this is at 1920x1080 with 4x AA and 8X AF.
while low 20s doesn't sound like much, it still was playable and im sure with some tinkering i could get it alot higher.
While I do not have the game yet, I have a pretty similar system I just built. the 2500k processor on a Asus P8P67 Pro with 8 gigs of 1600mhz ddr3 memory. Difference is my graphics cards is a 6970 but thats should be similar ball-park performance.
I don't want to be a downer because it's great you find it playable, but on a cutting edge system like that getting low 20's for frames over the cities at a low resoltuion of 1080p, just isn't quite. New systems should be pounding the hell out of the game with max settings.
Makes me kind of eager to try this out though, when it unlocks here in a couple weeks.
did anybody really expect to pound the hell out of this game at max settings over the biggest city right out of the box? with any PC on the planet?
heck it was years before anybody pounded the hell out of il2 1946 over berlin.
btw i lowered the forest and building levels to low and get this in big dogfights over water.
Min, 23 Max, 69 Avg 48
that might not be pounding the hell out of it but i find it acceptable.
I have it and I am in the U.S.Originally posted by Stiletto-:

You can buy a CD key from: http://www.justflight.com/
Then DL from Steam (it's much faster) rather than the U.K.
It runs about the same on my old CoreDuo system as it does on my new I-7 rig so it should run on yours as well. Just don't expect much until they fix it.......
Ok not happy-got a new system 5 months ago and expected better than what I got today.
I got an HP desktop, dual core cpu 3.20 ghz with 4.00 GB RAM. I suspect my card, a Geforce G210 may be the problem-but still I got this machine recently and the game has been in development for a long time. I turned off the anti-epilepsy filter, and used the trick of altering the config to run as DX9 I saw here and at the 1c forum. I do want to play the game and so just would like some assistance on getting it to run better as I could barely control the plane in the training mission.
Here's my 2500K with my 6970 running the "Unplayable Game" that everyone is whining about

There are lots of tweaks in the pipeline. Or we have been promised there are, that should greatly enhance performance.
Proper utilisation of multiple cores is supposed to double the frame rate! So I'm looking forward to that. And that shows how utterly slow and unoptimised it is now.
There is also things planned to make the trees and building have a lot less impact on speed.
So they are happy to admit it currently has poor performance. And only a monster systems can run it currently. And it needs fixing.
So stop trying to claim it is all us moaning and its fine and playable. For most it is not. And according to them it should be while still being fairly pretty. They have near enough said its broken and we are working on it. So it is not us or our medium power systems.
