Ok then how is this for not "trolling"
The german Army was extremly disaplined and had the Best Tanks and Planes, At the time they started their invasion of France
But not only that but the tactic of the germans where superior compaired to any other army at the time, insted of going though belgim like they did in WW1 they moved thourgh Luxenburg(spell) and cut half the of the British and Franch forces off from each other.
Twice the Anglo-Franch Forces had a chance to stop the german advance by cutting their supply lines
both failed because of poor orgainzation from the commanders and lack of stength of the counter attack
Inovation and bravery is good and all ,
but if the commanders make mistakes and use "outdated"![]()
stratagy and tactics,
Inovation and bravery account for nothing!
Plus the number of men that where called a certian unit in real life means nothing in a video game, the fact the they are called elite, mean that they are better the the adverage solder
also add-on from the last time
For some who had read all these old "outdated" book
You must know that the Waffen SS where and entire Division in the German Army, consiting of 6 Kampfgruppen (roughly equvilent to a company), which had tanks half-tracks and Artillary along with infantry troops
The Sturmgrenadiere where and accual unit in the german Army, "Grenadiere" was the Term for the general infantry
"Sturm" is translates into "Assult"
so SturmGrenadiere literally means "assult Infantry"
and where spead out acrossed the whole Army not just localised to the Waffen SS, as you incorrectly stated

The German WWII military did not use the word "Sturmgrenadier" in any capacity, it is a fictional term in RUSE. "Panzergrenadier" would instead have been both a politically and historically more acceptable choice for German heavy infantry in RUSE. The term “Panzergrenadier” was used to indicate both motorized and mechanized units in WWII.Originally posted by P47ace:

As to the Waffen SS: For all practical purposes the Waffen SS was the fourth arm of service branch of the Wehrmacht (Wehrmacht roughly meaning Armed Forces in English). The other three branches being Heer (Army), Kriegsmarine (Navy) and Luftwaffe (Air Force) and it was as such financed and equipped by the Kriegsministerium (War Department, or Department of Defence in 2011 terms).
This is not unlike the USA Armed Forces which also have four arm of service combat branches: the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the USMC. The USMC fields: combat divisions, corps general headquarters, its own air force units, naval units and even has its own Special Forces units.
The Waffen SS eventually fielded 38 field combat divisions in WWII. Only around 22 of these 38 divisions reached full TOE (Table of Organization and Equipment) strength however. In addition there were a further 15 Waffen SS Corps General Headquarters which had about a dozen battalion-size Corps field-combat units permanently attached. There were also two Waffen SS Panzer Army General Headquarters. Lastly there were three Waffen SS battalion-size Special Force units (Jagdverbände, meaning light infantry units) and one Special Force Waffen SS Paratrooper Battalion (Fs.Jg.Btl. 500/600).
German wartime records give a figure of over 900,000 (including the wounded, MIA and KIA) Waffen SS troops at the end 1944, they were dispersed over all fronts and were under overall Heer (Army) High Command in the field. In 1939 the Waffen SS fielded around 38,000 active duty combat troops, in 1945 this had grown to around 600,000 on active duty. The average personnel age in the Waffen SS field combat units varied between 18 and 19 years from 1939 to 1945.
Kampfgruppe means "Battle Group" and - when used by the German ground forces in WWII - it indicated a temporary ad-hoc field combat unit of which the manpower strength could be anywhere from Company to Division size with no fixed TOE. The Waffen SS formed many ad hoc Kampfgruppen from 1939 to 1945, not just 6.
@VVidar
You have seemed to have missed the point on this which i find quite laughable when it is in the unit description... 'Strumgrenadier' refers to NO PARTICULAR MILITARY OUTFIT just the most modern and lavishly equiped units in the Germany army. *sigh*
Yet again I ask you to make you essays into more managable snippits. And ramble on about nothing in particular... Oh and please stop talking to us as if we're kids i have no understanding and explaing every detail as if we're in a history lesson...

You do not make a point, you just flame and troll under a thinly veiled guise.
If my last post was read objectively it is clear that is a response to P47ace concerning his remarks on certain subjects. For your own personal better understanding I have now added P47 his post in quotes.
I do thank you for repeating my statement – in your own words though – that the term Sturmgrenadier is not historical. It is probably used in RUSE in order to be politically correct as I stated earlier. Like the term “Waffen Grenadier” which was solely used in the game “Combat Mission” for instance as a substitute for “Waffen SS” to avoid legal issues.
I have also read all the unit descriptions in the RUSOPEDIA when the game came out, thank you very much. The thing I brought to attention earlier though is that the Sturmgrenadier unit is the ONLY heavy infantry unit in RUSE that actually did not exist historically and I stated the probable reason for that.
Your flaming is a combination of derogatory comments and conveys an attitude that intends to discourage threads that post something in a form or manner that you do not like.
Take your last post in this thread for example: “laughable”, “sigh”, "snippits", “essays”, your general lecturing on the length and contents of the posts of others, “rambling” on “nothing”, “history lesson” and finally your self-appointed pretending to talk for a virtual community of others by using the word “we” and thereby encouraging others on the forum to respond in kind (and someone can always be found to join in a flame on any forum).
Even your post to P47ace in this thread about his spelling and grammar is an example, since you could have sent this remark as a personal message to P47ace instead of to all forum readers worldwide.[EDIT: You have since removed the post about P47ace from this thread.]
It is not possible to constructively respond to any of your recent posts in any of my threads since you do not enter into any factual discussion in detail for obvious reasons. Flaming and trolling the threads of others is a poor substitute for the inability or lack of will to constructively join in a discussion in those threads.
You generally seem to resort to one-liners when confronted with data that you do not like, know, want to take notice of, or when it just takes too much of an effort to digest. Which is fine by me. Flaming, trolling and resorting to personal attacks under any guise or pretext is not really commendable on the other hand.
This thread is not intended for your personal amusement but it is instead directed at Eugen / Ubisoft and any forum readers that might find it interesting.
Again there is really no need for flaming and trolling. Why not just post constructively or - if that is not possible - just look the other way instead.

I give in. Yet again I will say the term assualt grenadier is yes made up, BUT refers to all well equiped German infantry. I understand that you would again want this to me historically accurate but I am afraid that's the closest thing you'll get.
Maybe i would respond to your posts differntly if they were actualy losely related to RUSE. Tell me how will this benifit the casual RUSE gamer looking for tips on how to get better with RUSE/ listen to interesting RUSE tails/ Get into contact with other RUSE players.
And were not so condescending and written with the attitude - 'I know everything and everyone wants to hear what i have to say, for I know everything World War 2 and have read the books to prove this'. Christ i could go on all night as to how all your posts are written in a sense of arrogence, but i might get accused of flaming again.
Oh, and I am sorry P47ace if i caused any personal offense to you in my post. I wasn't intending to be offensive but I appologize if it was taken that way. I have also removed my post.
On a different note does anyone else listen to music while playing RUSE? I find it gets me in the RUSE area and livens up the slow areas of the game ie build up periods.![]()
