Doesnt suprise me, the Russians have seen their fair share of Islamic Terrorism. The Chechen war especially Grozny was so intense much of the footage could have easily been from Stalingrad

The razing of Grozny was an example of Russian rather than Chechen terror, but that is not the BC's point so that Teardrop is a noble monument to a terrible event marked by a great people who labour under an ignoble government.

Wow. That is amazing. So, why haven't we heard about this? How long ago was the memorial given?

Exactly what I was thinking. Why is this not publicised?

A big thank you to the Russian people!
The disgusting thing is,thanks to our ignorant bureaucrats, they've got one before we do.It's a beautiful monument, and again a big thanks to Russia.

You can thank Mr. Putin for that, I think. It would 'confuse' <STRIKE>his subjects</STRIKE> the Russian people to eulogize westerners at the same time he's trying to bring back the cold war with Bear bomber flights and Russian fleet visits to Central America.

No surprise to me at all. The Russians are Human too. Perhaps it`s not surprising that it might surprise Americans.

(hmm, too much use of the word surprise. )

Looks very appropriate and down to earth.
Does what it's supposed to - make people remember what happened and think of those who perished.

A simple and very esthetic memorial. The
artist(s) got a really good hand to convert
feelings to solid stone and steel.
