    Hi All,

I am new here but not new to the game. Sorry if this is dragging up the past but I really want to play this game again.

I had IL2 FB installed on my PC sometime ago and loved the game. Since playing i have upgraded my PC and HDD. My Father has had the game at his house so i haven't seen it for a while.
Anyways I got the game back today as i saw him playing and thought "That brings back some good game memories . . " so I nabbed it back and attempted to install it.
It runs all the way through to 91% and I then get the following:
"Error 1305. Error reading from file G:\Games\UbiSoft IL2 FB\PaintSchemes\Skins\TB-3_4M-17\Sharkmouth.bmp. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it"

Yers it is there and yes I can access it.

Doers anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening?

It would appear that it is indeed a CD issue - more commonly known as "My father is a muppet and must kick the CD round his PC room floor"!!

It's covered in scratches so it looks like i can no longer play this game.

I don't suppose anyone would have any tips on how to rescue the file or maybe get the last few files from somewhere else?

    Man am I annoyed . . .

You know for a sec there I thought that was a joke . . . but OMG no!!
I will keep that in mind!
But, I am happy to say, that after taking my kids PC apart and "borrowing" their CD ROM drive (they are not happy with me!) it has now decided that it can read that file and the install is complete!

Thanks to Tully and Steve V for answering a strangers questions so quickly - thanks guys.

    Cheers,
    Andy.
