Menu using O to select and X to go back ...?

Contrary to EVERY single game I've played, the menu system is using the O button to select and the X button to go back.
    Why oh why oh why?

I've had a good look and don't think I can change this anywhere, only the in-game button mappings.

Every single time I go into the menu I get this wrong and need to re-enter the menu to do what I intended again, instead of backing out.

Just making this that that WAS intentional (to every other PS4/PS5 game in the world!) and I've not missed a button re-mapping option somewhere ...?

    Hey sweatyrich_INA,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

I've certainly seem PlayStation footage using the traditional 'O to Go Back' 'X to Select' setup.

I do believe that for PlayStation consoles though, in the System Settings, there should be a toggle to switch X and O's uses.

Give this a try and let us know if it changes!

    Thanks for the reply.

I could certainly swap the O and X controller buttons within the PS5 "Customise Button Assignments", but this would also then swap the functionality within the game itself, so X to jump and O to crouch would also then swap, which I definitely don't want. And this would effect the PS5 as a whole (and so every other game).

I did a quick search on YouTube and I can see that other PS4 captures do indeed use the X to select and O to go back

So it's very odd that this game is different for me, and it's JUST this game.

Could it be because this game was purchased from the Indonesia PSN store? (my only PSN purchase from there)
Would the game menus have different button mappings based on the different regions?

The in-game buttons are just fine (and can be re-mapped if desired), just not the menu button selections.
It's not a deal-breaker as the gameplay is fine, I just need to adjust my brain every time I go into the menus.

LOL - In case you're wondering, I have TWO accounts; this (Australia) one which is my main one, and an Indonesia account, where I posted the original question from.

Hello goldcoasttanner thank you for your questions, this is correct. Certain Asian regional versions of our games will switch the X and O button prompts around (at least on PlayStation consoles), and this can be seen for other games with different publishers too, as some countries have the accept/cancel buttons (usually X and O) swapped around to how they appear in western versions of the game.
