Would you rather a SC1 remake or SC7?

I saw an article online that was polling players on whether or not they’d rather a new splinter cell continuing the story or a remake. What do you guys think?

Personally I think a remake is the best bet for different reasons.

Absolutely the remake. It's an opportunity to do a reset, which we need if we're ever going to get another committed stealth experience.

With a continuation, they'll be faced with more mixed expectations from players, and all of the challenges that come with that. If part of the fanbase expects a gameplay loop that includes detection (not me), and part actively doesn't want that (me), their starting point is already messy. Then you have to get into all of the narrative drama, where actions I didn't take became canon, and Sam lost his mind a lil' bit...

A remake can put it back on track. I fully support the idea.

I also think a remake was the best idea because I feel that they can't really divert too much from the way SC1 was built whereas a new entry.....well anything goes.

It's gotta go the route of a remake man... Looking at the amount of true SC fan dissatisfaction, I can't see them continuing with a SC7.

If they don't do SC justice this time around, I'm going back into obscurity

    both cases will be terrible.
if i had to choose how i wanted UBI to finish killing SC.. i think SC7.
Killing SC OG would be the greater insult. a reality that i am about 99.9% sure is incoming.

i think Raul had too much egg nog this holiday season.

we gamers can all agree what would be the best case scenario --in all seriousness, get the Chaos Theory ps2 disc, and copy it onto ps5 discs. open the old servers, same interface, everything. done and done.

Agreed lol. Raul was not very optimistic there lol.

But I too think a remake is the best route. I’ve read that the studio is playing the old games in order to understand what made them great. I think that’s the best possible route as far as what’s best for the franchise overall. So long as they stay true to what they mentioned in the interview about keeping the “essence “of splinter cell I can’t see the messing it up too much.

The one thing I am worried about is the movement. I’m afraid they’re going to use mocap which in my opinion doesn’t give the best movement mechanics

    in my defense.
in the last 10 years what has UBI done to provide any sense of optimistic?
if the team was able to pull just a straight copy and with update graphic. without
    1. Live Service
    2. Microtransation
    3. RPG
    4. optimize running game
    5. proper story
    6. Not dumbing down Gameplay
    7. Having a Deep engaging Game system
    8. No NFT

it will be the first game from UBI from the last 10 to 15 years to have done that. asking me to have faith is the stranger request than assuming UBI will just keep on being UBI.
