Word is going around that this game may be cancelled. Cancelling BGE2 will undoubtedly do irreparable harm to the Ubisoft brand for generations. BGE is a legendary IP! It's promise is what Sci-fi, Fantasy, and RPG fans have been waiting for, for decades. To enjoy an experience that Final Fantasy, Start Citizen and Mass Effect cant offer.
Please, Scale back the promise if needed. Just don't cancel.
We believe in you Ubisoft, to deliver us the game we have already waited 15+ years for.
We can wait a few more.
Freedom, Discovery, Piracy. Skies of Arcadia. Rogue Galaxy. BGE2.
Thank you, Dev team. And thank you leadership execs for allowing and encouraging them to press on, for us.
Personally I was not at all happy with what the reveal trailer showed - the excessive profanity in particular, and the fact it was going to be a prequel and not a sequel that everyone who played the original was hoping it would be.
Not only that, but footage that they did show was heavily centered around co op - thus ONLINE
If it gets cancelled - I won't have sleepless nights over it - it's been so long since we had an update anyway.
Michel Ancel is no longer with Ubisoft, Jodi Forrest (Jade's VA) is sadly no longer with us, and the footage they did show doesn't hold up to the same charm as the original.
I say Remake BG&E and let BG&E2 join the rest of those games that were not meant to be.
Please, cancel this game. Officially. With an announcement. So we have closure.
Ever since Ancel announced his dream game and Ubisoft immediately started developing it in a completely different direction, I have hoped that this day would come.
This was ending up as a multiplayer, service on demand, always online "GTA in space". A horrible fit with the franchise, let alone a horrible idea for a game.
Have the balls to get official word out there, please. Let Beyond Good & Evil have died with Jodie Forrest.
