This weekend's past, we witnessed the biggest influx of spam threads to date. Yesterday alone I counted over 50. The two threads that mentioned it got locked. We understand that moderators can't check the forums 24hrs a day but something needs to be done. It's very disconcerting to come to the forums and see such a mess like this. Makes you not want to visit. What is currently being done to prevent spam bots advertising in threads? It has to be more than just ignore them and left the first mod to come on shift delete them.
If you value us as customers I encourage you to take stricter measures to combat spam.
Hey! Unfortunately we don't work over the weekend so sometimes the spam can come in hot. We will eventually be moving over to the discussions platform which should help with the SPAM bots, some of them are crafty and talk about Ghost Recon but then link you to a spam site. They have been evolving.Originally Posted by TONY-NOVA Go to original post
Right, I gather. But until we move to the discussions panel what is going to be done to combat the spam? Can't just walk away from the problem and say "well, we don't work on weekends". Customers are on the forums on the weekends and have to witness the disaster that occurs. It's enough to make your eyes bleed. If you came here when not working on the weekends and saw what occurs, you'd know! You'd be just as upset!Originally Posted by UbiT00n Go to original post
Ed, my brother. It didn't matter what time you visited the forums yesterday. There were so many at one time it nearly took over the first page of threads.Originally Posted by ArgimonEd Go to original post
