It seems immediately worth it to max out mobility on your weapon of choice for CQB... ARs in my case as that has a huge benefit for moving while ADS.
What else is worth investing in? I find handling and accuracy are not an issue on any of my weapons except maybe for my LMG which I rarely use. But that's probably because I avoid weapons with excessive recoil in the first place. Maybe by buffing handling/accuracy in the weapon mastery system I would find some other weapons more useful than previous?
Has any of your guns really benefitted from Accuracy and Handling mastery investment? Which ones?
What else are you investing skill points in as a priority?
I did the following:
Maxed mobility with:
ASR
Handguns
Added two points to accuracy in:
ASR
HDG
Added two points in handling:
ASR
HDG
Added two points on mobility:
DMR
SMG
Why? Need more points to max those out.
Why I don't spend more in acc and handling?
Because it doesn't change much and it's already really manageable, I only use single fire on ASR (needs a trigger update though, wish it was as responsive as the pistol triggers are now)
Why I don't use other weapons?
I would I'd there was something for launchers, so you can bit a bit quicker moving in and out of cover to fire with them, it's a pain because you are so slow, it's really easy to get shot
I have all points into max out ASR, as i think it is the most balanced weapon but also the most lacking. ASR was not so good for cqb as lower mobility and aiming speed than SMG, sustain dmg vs drone is a lot weaker than LMG.
When i have ASR all maxed, its has good sustain dmg not too far behind LMG, comparable to SMG in cqb.
My favourite weapons are all H&K weapons, especially G36C(K) and 416 all variants, i found G36 got a very ugly grouping pattern where no way to fix with attachment and it has the lowest dmg as well of all ASR. All maxed ASR mastery really help me able to use it again.
That makes sense. It probably makes most sense to fully master one weapon category at a time.Originally Posted by Crossaber Go to original post
With the feature to reset your weapon mastery skills on the fly, the system doesn't really require a whole lot of planning. I would say it simply requires a bit of personal testing to find where your preferences are or more simply, go for max on the weapon you currently want to use and then reset it when you want to change weapons.
When the TU went live, I had 158 surplus skill points ready to go so, I maxed out DMR for all three categories right out the gate. As I'm gaining more skill points to invest into other weapons, my priority is Mobility>Handling>Accuracy.
With the exception of the random wild sniper shot issue, all the weapons in the game are already very accurate, or accurate enough when using controlled fire.
Prioritizing your ability to move quickly, and aim quickly, really sets a much better pace(Especially in CQC) for gameplay. No more need to switch between the slow ADS crawl to the Usain Bolt sprint constantly just to advance on a target.
(You probably already know it's my favorite but if you have not, I strongly recommend testing out the MK14 Assault with the new mastery points. It is an incredibly versatile DMR. Hits hard enough to use as a long gun, and moves quick enough for CQC.)
Yes, accuracy does matters, i was using G36C(K) as a tester, its grouping pattern on fourth shot always goes weirdly left then make a weirdly right, when the accuracy and handling is on max, the left and right jump become much smaller. I have also tested with just accuracy or handling alone, seems both maxed give a better result.Originally Posted by TONY-NOVA Go to original post
God i just hate the grouping pattern on G36C(K), it is still my most used weapon in game.
