Unlike Wildlands where convoys appeared on the map, we have no such tool to help locate convoys in this game.
Is there a repeatable and consistent location you know of that will have a convoy spawn in a reasonable amount of time?
I went to the Windy Isle garbage island, which has a loop road that is very short, and was surprised to find no convoy there (in story mode). It seems really hit or miss as to when one might appear. Has anyone found anything consistent or have any suggestions?
How long does that takes you in a session?Originally Posted by ArgimonEd Go to original post
Furthermore, I find the question legitimate, since the introduction of new XP cap at 100 instead of 30. This implied grinding. Convoys and Behemoths are supposed to represent an alternative XP source to missions if one wanted to take them in a slow pace.
But, the spawning frequence of behemoths is absolutely erratic, some spawns, or respawn more often than others, but it's not consistent. Now that the CIA is handling Nomad's operations, this means that the unit would have acess to sat-imagery and that convoys would be identified.
Anyhow, I've stopped with wishful thinking. As expected "the Bodarks came with their own vehicles..." which are just reskinned vehicles and one can still wonder how did they reached the island? There's a lot to question about this DLC. I'm not saying it's bad, it should probably have been the base game in the first place and we should appreciate the effort made by Ubisoft.
This said, as far as I'm concerned: there is still things that I find at times quite inconsistent or not that well thought or implemented.
Convoys are really the only decent source of credits if you want to accelerate purchases from Maria.
The good news is, if you take one without damaging the truck, by sync shooting or sniping the driver, and then fall on your own grenade to die and respawn, the convoy you took out will respawn as well. The problem is, finding a location suitable to start this process. I’ve waited by road sides for a long time and never get a convoy. The most reliable so far is Seal Island Bivoac in Liberty and then hanging out by the three-way intersection there. But even that’s hit or miss.
The process seems, 1. Tedious, 2. Pain full...Originally Posted by Virtual-Chris Go to original post
Sit yourself down on that hillside between the brewery and the housing complex where Jace Skell's place is at the far end. A convoy and a bag man car show up pretty consistently. The direction they arrive from varies, but you have decent warning time and good field of fire with some protection from the gunners.
Another good place to wait is that open field below Paula Madera's place, across the road and to the right of the helicopter pad. If you go back far enough you can see down the road to your right and all the way back on your left to the Sentinel control post and still get close enough in time to wreck your havoc.
Thirdly, the last two spots I know of are in Smugglers Cove. One, that stretch of road out front of the woman you meet to do the Sacred land Mission. And two, almost directly east of there, down by the Sentinel control post and the factory on that little lake.
I don't farm convoys but when I want to loot one, (once I've got that better equipment from convoys perk), I chopper out to these places hoping to grab some elite parts. Anyhoo, Those are the places that sit topmost in my mind as "regularly occurring" convoy spots. Good hunting.
Sam.SamFisher, out.
In the 10 minutes I was waiting for the night fall (in game 17:30 until 20:50)Originally Posted by Mars388502 Go to original post
3 convoys passed me and I was waiting to do a mission, on my new playthrough I decided to not use bivi time skip and travel only by car.
Noticed the convoys were appearing a lot when I was waiting night fall for a few missions.
Most of the time after just a couple of minutes
