I thought the cut scene was there to tell us she was lying. That was my take.

I believe she was telling the truth. When the lights turned on in the building both her and her brother weren't looking as they were too busy deciding if they should push the button, that's why they were shocked when they saw people on fire coming out of the building. Sentinel / Stone and Miles gave them false info and set them up to bomb an occupied building in order to convince Jace to make lethal drones so that they could use them for their Wonderland operation and the CLAW program.

    Just finished Motherland last night.

First question: What the hell is up with the literal thousands of moths plastering the walls of a structure inside a volcano?
I absolutely can not get past this kind of crap. At no point in my life have I ever heard of or thought "This game just isn't immersive enough because there are no Moths in it." Yet here Ubi is adding thousands upon thousands of giant moths, creating the opposite issue. Felt like I had somehow stumbled into Fallout 76 and was hot on the trail of the Mothman.
I've been seeing them all over the place with this update, but the tower at the end is surrounded and covered with those things.

Second question: What the hell is up with the literal thousands of moths plastering the walls of a structure inside a volcano?
I meant it, I absolutely can not get past this kind of crap.

Sorry, not sorry, for the unedited clip. But this doesn't even capture half of them. The control room at the top of the tower had them plastered all over every wall, pillar, and monitor. And hundreds more are swarming outside the windows...

    What
    in
    the
    hell
    ...

Nomad discovered that Daigoroh Ito was actually working for Sentinel; he so stated when asked:

    He was dealt with accordingly:
