Always On internet connection leaves me disenfranchised =-(
Here is some feedback for you UBI:
I am a day one Ghost Recon consumer. And by that I mean back in November 2001 I purchased the original GR. (Was already a Tom Clancy and Rainbow Six fan)
I spent hundreds of hours on the original titles, reconnoitering the large maps, dropping bad guys for hours on end in the single player campaigns.
As time marched on, the subsequent titles focused more on large scale explosions and action, less on stealth and recon; but I enjoyed them even so.
I think Wildlands, and then Breakpoint made a giant step back to the GR I enjoy; large open terrain, tactical, mostly unscripted, and immersive.
I have once again spent hundreds of hours on the single player campaigns, reconnoitering and losing myself in the game..... Well, SORT OF...
Wildlands came out during a period when I was working locally, and might have had the odd disconnect, not enough that I recall it being an issue.
For the last 3 years I've largely been working away from home, in hotels and work camps with spotty WiFi connections. Always-On internet requirement has caused quite a bit of frustration for me, depending on the quality of my connection to "ubisoft servers". I have still managed to find time and good wifi, also playing the game at home with better wifi; but still seem to suffer 'disconnected from server' issues regularly, even at home. (I typically do not play games at home, I'm usually busy catching up on regular life)
I've enjoyed Breakpoint; I spent 200 hours completing the campaign. I haven't completed any other content yet... Not for lack of trying. But when I'm 20 minutes into playing and am immersed in my mission, I'm disconnected for a fraction of a second and -poof-
"lost connection to servers"
--one second later--
"you are now connected to Ubi Servers"
Well that is great UBI, but the immersion is gone. I usually say something like "oh f#c( YOU!" or "you suck UBI"
And I mean it.
This is not the first time I've given this feedback; but it will be the last.
UBI sucks
