before OP:Motherland I think that if you died in the game with ZERO syringes and bandages and respawned, you'd get 2 of each for free.
Now, it seems like if the game saved your progress with a certain amount of syringes or bandages, even if that's 0, then if you die and respawn, you'd respawn with exactly the same amount. even if that's zero. Also, i think the same goes for ammo.
That's an awesome change, imo.
It sounds small, but i play with 5 bandages and this tweak to the game means i sometimes don't have enough healing items which changes my approach to encounters. if I barely haven enough bandages or syringes than i avoid small skirmishes or retreat from battles to save on those.

Are you playing solo, or with team mates (and revives)? If solo, that’s tough and you will get killed and the consequences should mean something. I agree.
I play with two team mates these days so usually if I go down, I’m immediately beating a path out of there, falling back, waiting for things to quiet down, maybe even going to the nearest Bivoac to recharge and let the base reset and then going in again another day. It’s extremely rare when I get KIA. I think if death consequences are important, you could adjust your play style a bit so you never have to deal with the consequences.
I noticed spawning with 2 free before and also when I load up for the 1st time I get a full load. That disappointed me but have not noticed the change - will have to check later.
If this is indeed the case, thank the lord. Like you Topeira, I longed for this to be changed. Makes it now worthwhile looting more for bandages (I only play with always injuries and no syringes) although these do appear to be scarce and so do have to craft.
I usually play with 1 or more teammates but if I go down, i dont retreat but keep fighting, so I do get KIA often enough. In fact, since 2 updates ago it seems like the AITM dont kill the enemies near me before reviving, so if there is an enemy right next to my body, I get revived and killed against immediately. Strangely enough, i kinda like it better than how it was before, because now sometimes those revives just don't work and I don't always get 2 "free-passes" if I go down. now, sometimes, if I go down, i won't be able to be revived and escape to safety. I know you manage to RP every little thing, but im not like that. Not anymore at least. Not since my gaming time shrunk to a third with the birth of my daughters :P
the game saves often. I noticed that now, if I enter combat with, say full syringes and bandages, and during the fight I use them all, once I finish combat the game saves, but it also saves my lack of consumables. Now, if I enter combat, i will not be able to heal myself. if I get killed because of that and the game loads, I will still not have any consumables. This means that small skirmishes on the way to an objective (in the middle of the forest or what not) means something - if they make me waste a syringe, then once I come close to my mission than I will have less syringes. or none, even.Originally Posted by martbloke88 Go to original post
