Returned to the game after quite a while…

Not quite No Man’s Sky redemptive arc, but I have to say I’m impressed.

If only all games had this suite of options to allow players to customise their experience to the same degree…. I mean wow, you can even turn off the bloody drones!

    I’ve been enjoying the game.

The graphics and buggyness has been significantly improved too — from what I’ve played so far. The graphics in particular. I’m playing on PlayStation 4 PRO. Last time I played this game it was wall-to-wall lo-res textures are medium to long range, awful low resolution pop in, I mean the game looked pretty awful. It now looks really solid. Textures from a distance now look decent, it now actually looks more like a sequel to Wildlands.

I appreciate the games movement mechanics, in that it forces you to consider how you move, when you move and your positioning etc. Wildlands felt way more functional, you could run and gun more efficiently, but because Breakpoint doesn’t allow for that it feels more methodical, realistic. That said it’s not perfect, the game still feels clunky even at the best of times, just seem to get stuck on scenery, and just the cover system just isn’t as good. The game is just more clunky, but you can work around it…

The things I still feel could be tweaked more —

Density and frequency of random world events, e.g enemy patrols, random encounters, enemies standing near parked bikes — could all be spread out more and less frequent.
I’m a big believer in less is more.
And in open world games it makes such a difference. Currently in this game moving around in the open world you’re bumping this stuff, into patrols every couple of minutes, it is repetitive and it breaks immersion. Would be far more immersive if you were bumping into patrols more infrequently, every now and again, it would feel much more immersive that way.

Also it still feels like the shooting, just isn’t very weighty or impactful. Guns still feel like you’re shooting peashooters. I’m not entirely sure why this is whether its the sound effects of physics and impact when you shoot the enemies? It just feels like you’re shooting paper enemies. Just doesn’t have much weight? I thought Wildlands was better.

I’d also like to see stamina have more of an impact. So eating and drinking has far more of a purpose. At the moment stamina regardless of whether you sprint drink water doesn’t seem to have a great deal of impact. Be great to see a wide range of options to tweak this.

Also less abundance of ammo. I don’t ever seem to run out. It would make scavenging more purposeful ….

But I have to say well done Ubisoft. Game has been significantly improved. Almost tempted to get my mate back on this for some co-op.

In principle — it is sad that it’s an always online game, as I really do not like it.

Nevertheless — hopefully Ubisoft have learned lessons and the future is bright for Ghost Recon?

It feels like Breakpoint 2.0 compared to launch.

    Not perfect, but better.

A fresh playthrough from start ahead of the new DLC has been fun.

Good to see you back around LaMOi. Getting any good "FG KNIFE!!" take downs?

Glad you're enjoying the improvements. It is a different game now, that's for sure.

Since release the Game has improved, but still a lot of Bugs, and poor Missions. With Motherland appearing Today, hopefully be better, but from the update list, not holding much hope. I am hoping to start afresh from Beginning and jump straight to Motherland, but not sure yet if you can.
Hopefully they have reprogrammed the pathetic Breachers speed to be more realistic.

Definitely sounds like the missing link right now is a believable story that ties it all together and makes the player feel as if their efforts are significant. If they have integrated new mechanics for this new conquest mode (I think it's called) there could be a very tangible step towards making this experience the one many TC / GR fans signed up for.

Oooh there’s a lot more missing than just the story, but yeah they have made some baby steps in the right direction (while still scoring a few major face palms).

Yeah maybe my comment was a little too broad stroke- but what hits me in the face every time I'm even contemplating taking the leap from Wildlands to Breakpoint is the nonsensical, empty world (one of those facepalm issues I neglected) and mission content.

I'm not personally a big technical guy so I'm less phased by the specific weapon / gear presentation and ballistics but I acknowledge many fans of this genre are- but without a believable story to tie everything together (or the ability to fabricate our own in an editor) in the end I'm of the stance that the rest is of little consequence.

    Again- opinion only.

    Hahaha….

I wish…. I’d still pay money for those to be added to Wildlands!

    Do you hear me Ubisoft!
