    Investigation Objectives Problem

I'm having a problem conducting investigations because pinned objectives do not show up either in my vision when scanning 360° of the horizon, or on the TacMap. Confused, I check the objectives in the Investigations journal, and they are, according to the list, pinned. Can someone please tell me either what I am doing wrong, or what it is that I misunderstand?

IIRC when in the TacMap, on a PC correct?, click the Tab key to bring up what's pinned. The same for when in the game world itself.

Are you referring to the the visibility of your pins(mission checkpoint "details"), or the actual objective markers(Circle icons marking the location).

Like Mike says, on PC you can tap the Tab key to toggle hud/pin visibility. On Consoles it's Down on the D-Pad.

For the location markers, check your HUD settings under the minimap section. They may have uncoupled it, but the minimap options also applied to the TacMap. If you had objective markers on them minimap turned off, they would not show on the TacMap.

That's what I thought that I was telling you; you are correct, that you are supposed to be able to see it in the world view. The pinned objectives don't show there or on the TacMap. There are no visual indicators of any sort; the only "pointers" to my objective locations are the investigation notes themselves, very vague and imprecise guides. Am I misunderstanding that there should be visual indicators of a non-text nature? Maybe the only indicators are just the investigation notes, and I misunderstand what "pinned" means. I thought "pinned" meant that you could see pins on the TacMap and in the gameworld. Am I mistaken? Are there not any visual indicators?

I just checked the minimap settings for the HUD, and all values are at default (most are Dynamic; none are Never) with one exception: MiniMap size is Large.

Don't quote me, however with your further explanation it reads as if you're looking for "actual" pins of the objectives in your world view. Look at your world parameters, it might be that you have it set to non-guided mode, versus guided.

Guided vs non-guided determines if the objectives show on the HUD. You have to use guided to do daily faction missions in order to know where your drop off is (although it’s usually just across the road )

No, it's set to Guided mode. I have all objective markers showing on my map except those for investigations. I see yellow for main missions, orange for side missions, green for factions missions, and blue for weapon blueprints and weapon attachments. Then there are the complex blue-and-white markers for Skell, Custom, and Skill chests. Oh, and white for regular weapons, collectibles, and gear chests.

EDIT: Something occurred to me (please let me know if I've figured it out) I think I might have misunderstood how Investigations work. Does the following sound reasonable (?):

There aren't markers of any color for investigations per se. The "pins" for them don't actually show on the map or HUD except as those three-page document icons that represent collectibles such as bios, recordings, maps, photos, notes, et cetera. The text messages that pop up for investigations describe where the collectibles may be found, and when you actually find them, items are checked off of investigation lists. When you find the last collectible, the Resolve option of the "pins" are available to close the investigation you were working on.

Does that sound like I have a proper understanding of it, now? Thanks for your considerate help, people. It's appreciated.

What annoys me is when you can see an enemy, but not the thing he is hiding behind, making it look like he is not covered. So you shoot alerting him and the rest!! The View Distance is awful.

Geez - they moved this thread for no good reason at all. So just in case it gets read:

The last explanation seems reasonable to me. That's being stated without me ever using the guided mode with any character slot however. Only a few investigation collectibles do I pin and actually seek to find - those dealing with what happened to Midas and the status of Sgt. Hill. Otherwise I simply collect an item when getting to a location, if it's not locked behind a mission-only status if I'm free-roaming.
