This game keeps hard crashing my PS5 (Full shutdown.)
So... like am I the only one here?
Everytime my girlfriend loads up Fenyx, she gets about 30-90 min of play before the PS5 shuts off outright.
Facts:
1. I play other games like AC Valhalla on performance, even leave them idling for DAYS and no issues with any ever. Not a single crash or hard shutdown from any other game or app - PERIOD.
2. I do not use rest mode, so its not the full shutdown rest mode bug.
3. It happens in Fenyx regardless of my Performance/Quality mode settings.
4. Uninstalling various DLCs has no impact.
5. PS5 Database has been rebuilt, licenses check - SEVERAL TIMES.
6. Fresh re-installs have taken place.
7. No error code is provided as its a hardware crash.
8. I have a Digital PS5, so disc failure and disc drive are not a factor.
9. Ps5 is well ventilated and not overheating.
I'm unwilling to continue to subject my machine to this. As of now I've removed Fenyx because I am 100% confident that it is the source of my issues. I play Warframe, Destiny 2, Valhalla, etc. etc. all way more graphically intense games, and have 0 issues over 6+ hour play sessions. I often leave my games on and idling over the weekend, but none of them shut my ps5 off.
I've mulled it over in my head... and my only explanation is that it's somehow in the save file. I don't see others having this problem, which makes it a bit more personal. The very nature of what's happening, and how it's getting worse over time, is reminiscent of save bloat in older games like Skyrim's initial release. I can't see any other reason that my game would become utterly unplayable unless the issue is cooked right into my save file.

Hi there lagrue.
Sorry to hear about your PS5 console being forced to shut down when playing Immortals Fenyx Rising.
Would you be able to let me know if your PS5 is set to 'Performance mode' or 'Resolution mode'?
This can be found by navigating to 'Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Game presets > Performance Mode or Resolution Mode'. Past players had reported issues when playing the game in Resolution mode. This issue should now be fixed, but we'd like to ensure this is not the cause.
As you mentioned you believe this could be tied to your save game, would you be able to test the game with a new save, possibly using a different profile, to see if this issue persists?
Thank you.
