I'm wondering how hard it should be these days to recruit some new talents for Ubisoft, considering all the troubles that happened in the company.
And how harder it should be for the remake dev team to find people who know and love Splinter Cell. Any way I hope it won't take them too long to build a strong team.
Yep still early, maybe we'll start having some small things like teasers and checks in around the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
Hey LuckyBide!
I apologize if I've been silent for the past two months. I've been busy with my education and, so, didn't have the time to check the forums. I wish I was more involved with the letter but it's nice to see that it's reached Ubisoft in some capacity. A lot of that can be contributed to your efforts. I also appreciate the gratitude.
Overall, good job in contacting Ubisoft with the letter!
Hey NoviceGuy
No problem and no need to apologize, we all have a busy life and more important things to focus on ^^
I'm glad to see you back. And believe me you have been very involved in the letter, your help in writing it and defining its next steps was very precious !
Thank you for your compliments, let's now hope for the best.
You're welcome and thanks again LuckyBide!
Hopefully Ubisoft takes the letter into great consideration. On a slightly different topic, EA Motive is going to host another live stream for the Dead Space Remake in the next hour or so. It would be great if Ubisoft shows the same level of transparency for the Splinter Cell Remake.

here's my gameplay rundown of why the first 3 SC's made Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell.
I've been catching up on the Dead Space stuff from the other day...wow. I've never even worked with audio like that, but the technical videos are awesome. I love seeing the inner-workings - fascinating stuff.
With the stream, I'm seeing respect and care - so nice. And I don't even play Dead Space. lol
To start it off with -
Love it."We're showcasing content as it goes in, to make sure that we're receiving feedback, and we're able to show you all the game and hear what you think about what we're making."
Splinter Cell team, I hope you're taking notes.![]()
I've watched some of their new stream, I still didn't watch it completely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHDUjcfyXLA
I really like this livestream format and all the detailed technical explanations they're giving, that's very interesting to watch.
Though I'm a bit cautious on the fact theat they're only inviting popular streamers/youtubers/podcasters during these streams. I understand they want to interact with people who know how to talk in front of a camera but in a way it questions the authenticity of this community council.
However I'm not a Dead Space fan either and I don't know how this council works outside of these livestreams, if there are more regular discussions between devs and regular fans, on a forum or a specific discord.
Anyway youtube comments are very positive and liking this format as well, it seems that Dead Space fans are happy for now about how this remake is going.
So yeah, let's hope the Splinter Cell team is actually taking notes![]()
I thought about that, too, but it's understandable that those would be the ones they'd have on a stream. It doesn't have to affect how the player feedback works outside of those public events... As long as there's balance and good representation, let the ones who are comfortable on camera do their thing. Because I would never. lolOriginally Posted by LuckyBide Go to original post
From what I can tell, I believe the streamers are a part of the council because he (the streamer) did say that Motive have been showing them the game's progress even before the remake was announced. If anything, I also think that they just want someone who is comfortable with doing these live streams instead of a novice.
Either way, Motive is clearly trying their hardest to get constructive feedback on what has been revealed through social media - even if some are already dismissing the remake based on what's been shown. That's the double-edged sword of sharing early pre-alpha footage and why a lot of developers don't bother to show developmental footage.
I completely understand that. It's just that with all these influencers who are paid by game publishers to only say positive things about their games, I'm always suspicious and it's a risk that could exist. Plus we all know the bad reputation of EA and other big publishers...Originally Posted by CoastalGirl Go to original post
Or it could be a way for EA to make some free advertisement/marketing campaign by benefiting from the huge audiences of these streamers.
But hopefully behind the scenes, the developers of EA Motive listen to all the members of their community council.
Yeah it seems that the streamers are part of the community council and I understand their role. I only hope they're just treated as equal as the other not known members in that council and that they don't get a preferential treatment.Originally Posted by NoviceGuy Go to original post
I trust the EA Motive devs as I trust the Ubisoft Toronto devs for the remake, they seem to be honest and people who want to deliver a great experience that will be faithful to the original experience. But we know how executives of huge publishers are, this could change from one day to the next and they could ruin it or change its direction for the worst.Originally Posted by NoviceGuy Go to original post
And there will always be a few players complaining because devs only show them alpha content, most of the time these players don't have any patience.
