That's the problem with this update having Bodark. Some people just wanted a return to Future Soldier. Ubisoft looks at the big picture stuff, and misses the actual nuanced discussion going on, and then too often, the nuanced discussion is drowned out by generalized discussion like "Make it more like Wildlands" or "Breakpoint is good" (it's rare, but I've seen it). And see, this is where I fault the Community Team, because they don't look at the nuanced discussions. .
....but that's the thing. The CMs do look at those discussions and we've seen them even make appearances within them.

These are not discussions that escape their notice. However, what they do with the information and/or choose how to interpret it, spin it, ignore it or use is stuff that goes on from their end.

There's nothing we can do about that but I can tell you for certain that anyone from Ubi that truly wants their finger on the pulse of the community needn't look far. All that great feedback and details are all there (and have been there) in some cases for years.

The biggest problems with Breakpoint that made me stop playing were really two things… (1) There was no mission content worth (re)playing and (2) the enemy AI made free-roam boring. Everything else I lived with through hundreds of hours of play and could continue to deal with if they fixed 1 & 2.

Now for sure, they’ve fixed 1.

We don’t know about 2, but the fact there’s some new achitypes gives me hope.

    Bowman seals the deal.

Anything else is pure bonus luxury.

how will you feel if when you finish the DLC, you can't reset the world with restarting a new character?

For me it was the opposite. As much as the missions were lackluster, I could be entertained if the AI was actually a challenge and fun opponent. So even with the new missions if the AI is still a mindless horde it won't do much for me.

I’m not sure what you mean, I’m not sure how this will be implemented either. Will we have to start a new character to play this? Like Fallen Ghosts? Will it be like a World Parameter? Too many questions. But worst case, I play through it once - which is more than I would play Breakpoint without this DLC

I'm genuinely interested in playing this update and gives me a reason to take over the whole island.

Ubisoft, thank you for doing the right thing on this update.
Agreed. Credit where it’s due. On the surface it does look good. I’m just being cautious. I want to see how good it is before I dish out too much praise. However, if it exceeds, (my admittedly low) expectations, I shall be more than happy to be more generous.

I think the missions will make or break this. If they can make some decent missions even with no changes to the AI, I’ll still enjoy it. But it’s unlikely you’ll see me free roaming after the missions are complete unless there’s some new dynamics. I think the possibility of added reinforcements could be a great addition that adds some replay ability. But if we’re dealing with the same fence post AI, it will get one play through from me before I go back to Division 2.

I suspect you may be right. If it brings some of the Wildlands formula it’ll be a start, but it seems there might actually be more to this, which could be even better. Even if it helps them gather a bit more info on what’s actually popular, it’ll be worth it.

What I meant was you play through and Haruhi and the outcasts take over Auroa. Game over, credits role - there are no enemies left. you can't reload a save, you are done unless you delete that character slot and start over. One aspect of Wildlands that really works for me is the saves. I have all 3 of my ghost mode characters set with no missions accomplished. I have collected all the weapons, bonuses etc etc but not single campaign mission. This keeps the rebel presence to a minimum and I do a session, go shoot some sh1t up and the restore to the no missions state. BP allows me to do a little of that simply by replaying individual missions, but I can not save the game at a particular state.

Sad to see they doubled down on armor clad enemies that are no doubt a way to justify bullet sponge mechanics, bosses, etc. This is not the way I would want to be challenged, personally. .....and I find it's a lazy way to make the gameplay more difficult to be honest by essentially boosting an enemy's resistance to damage.

Also not a fan of the optical camo. Having it available for the player to use if they want to is one thing but fighting against it is another. I don't like sci-fi / futuristic gimmicks like that in GR personally.

I am glad to see positive or partially positive reactions to the update in the community but I really have no hope for the future of GR at this point. ....at least a future that I would be interested in.
Likewise, not wild about the things you mention. (The only part of fallen ghosts I wasn’t crazy about, was constantly having to scan areas with thermal), but the Conquest mode itself looks like it could be decent.
