It's called Wildlands. WL was a good game but I don't get this obsession with it and wanting every new game to be a WL 2.0. That to me just shows that WL should've been its own franchise and not under the GR name. These calls from people are for a new WL not for a new GR.

However, i'll wager what they'll do is stick the course and start applying band-aids as they always do. .....so good luck trying to get a proper gr experience as it will likely be yet another compromise. This is all assuming this delay is even a result of any of this or that they will listen and act before release.

A lot of people would disagree with you. Wildlands IMO, allowed me to play more like a classic Ghost Recon than GRAW or GRFS did.. And if Open Worlds games had been a thing in 2001, I could have seen Red Storm using one, based on their emphasis on tactical freedom, even within the smaller maps. They still offered you the ability to choose how you were going to approach each objective on the map, and in which order. . Sure, a lot of it was geared more towards the casuals, but you could still turn Wildlands, into an extremely tactical game, especially with like minded friends.

They're not turning Frontline into a single player game. It's not a Ghost Recon game, but a F2P PvP game in "the Ghost Recon Universe".

Either they are dropping the Ghost Recon branding or they're going to try and make it more "tactical" [I'd love for it to be either a bigger, TPP Hunt:Showdown or pivot to a "modern" TPP Hell Let Loose].

    they didnt misread the community.
they knew the GR base would not like it... what they misread was that not even the casual market likes it. that is what they failed on.
UBI is so wanting to drop this community like a hot potato and gather a bunch of 15 years old.
they are trying to do another AC. where they drop the old but gather all the new players that are into Microtransactions. All they need is to make it happen once and than there is no going back.

Yeah, it was clearly too "me too", which lead to that market asking why they should bother [the teenager is in that market, he and his friends don't see the point].

They didn't bring anything new/better/different to the market. It could have been free PUBG TPP Group play. It could have been larger Hunt:Showdown. It could have been Escape from Tarkov with Loadouts. It could have been a TPP, squad based 48v48 battle. It could have had some new/novel spin that leaned into TierOne/Tactical. Instead it was? I'm still not sure.

Perhaps but why then wrap the Frontline reveal in a video celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Ghost Recon franchise where they spent more than 15 minutes of a 25 minute presentation talking about past GR titles, aspects important to the franchise, how they changed BP to better fit what the community wanted from a GR title, their dedication to GR values and so on?

I get where you're coming from but if they weren't interested what the fans wanted they wouldn't have made the changes they did to Breakpoint or bother trying to appeal to us with the B.S. that was in that video. .....even asking for our feedback as a community.

Again, they misread us. If not in thinking we would enjoy something like this but maybe thinking enough of us would go with the flow. I don't think they expected the extent of the negative reaction they received from us even judging by the excitement our CM expressed before the reveal which seemed to imply we would be just as happy about the news.

Everything I have seen leads me to the conclusion that Ubi just doesn't get it. They don't understand their fanbase nor what players value in the franchise. ....even after all of the feedback, official and community polls, the Charter, Delta Company's input, etc., etc. They misread us and that hasn't changed.

No good Delaying it, Scrap it!! Invest the time doing proper Tom Clancy Games, they were very popular. Too many BR, PVP Games about to take that on. Problem is with them Cheats Galore.

Same thing they did with AC. if you can get the mass market and the old community to buy in...more money. if they can get the mass market but failed to grab the old..oh well you will still bank more anyways. Just because you are trying to gather another crowd does not mean you cant try to PR sway the old crowd too. it is worth a try.

    issue is.. no cares lol.

make no mistake the new AC is not a "Social Stealth" game anymore. it is a RPG focus game now that pretends to still be "AC" to snag the old crowd that still thinks that "This Time" UBI is listening to them. looking at the numbers it worked. they got the old crowed to buy in again and expanded their market to boot.
