Low FPS with low internet bandwidth
I apologise if this has been covered before, but I'm playing Fenyx rising again and everything was fine until I started downloading a file while playing. I'm on a Ryzen 3900x and a RTX 3080, I normally get around 100 fps, however, today I was downloading a large file, using almost all of my internet bandwidth, I set uplay to offline mode and launched Fenyx Rising to play while I was downloading my file, it took me forever to get into the game, I was on 4fps in the menu. When I got into the game, I was going between 70fps and 15 fps constantly, I thought, this can't be due to bandwidth, I'm offline and it's a single player game? I turned off my download and I'm magically back to 100fps stable, turned it back on, I'm back down to 15fps. I've noticed this in quite a few ubisoft games (most of the AC games), where low bandwidth is somehow related to low fps even when set to offline mode. Does anyone know what causes this? This is insane that this is an issue in a single player game. Does anyone know if there's something I need to configure to be truly offline? As the game is clearly trying to communicate with uplay for some kind of handshake, even though I'm set to offline, and I'm guessing that when it can't connect, it keeps firing more and more requests
