That was in response to a comment I made, trying to give her the benefit of the doubt:
The post itself was titled "They really tried hyping this up."
Ultimately, it doesn't matter because she has zero input on creative choices, but as someone who supposedly passes along our feedback, she was incredibly tone-deaf with respect to what she knew would be a disappointment to the community. And I say she was tone-deaf because she kept using those gift/present emojis on Reddit, here, and on Twitter, as if to say the stream would feel like a gift to the player base. And if she's so tone-deaf that she'd try to hype up the stream knowing full well it would be contrary to our feedback, after having read and passed along that same feedback, then that's an indicator of which feedback the community team is passing along or the manner in which that feedback is being passed along to the dev team. And even at best, for the community team to be that tone-deaf means for sure, the devs are at least as tone-deaf if not more so.
If she had a hunch that this was going to be received the way it was then its possible that everyone there is out of touch. Just to be devils advocate in terms of Toon not Ubisoft. Even if she had a hunch and agreed with the community that this was a terrible idea and looks to be a poorly executed game. She wouldn't be able to say otherwise. Think about it if she says that she doesn't support the game and isn't proud to be part of the team that pushed this thing out. She would be fired.
I mean just look at what happened to Lt Col Sheller when he he questioned the way the withdraw from Afghanistan was handled.
No matter what job or position you have and the freedom of speech you may have on the internet, it would bear consequences from a job stand point.
If I had her job and had to deal with this. I would say the same thing because this is how I pay the bills. If she were to speak out and thusly be fired from Ubisoft do you think they would give a good reference should she go work for a new developer?
