Pulled back by the vague hope that there could be hope, only for it to be dashed once again. Still nice to see you here, even if only briefly.

That was in response to a comment I made, trying to give her the benefit of the doubt:

The post itself was titled "They really tried hyping this up."

Ultimately, it doesn't matter because she has zero input on creative choices, but as someone who supposedly passes along our feedback, she was incredibly tone-deaf with respect to what she knew would be a disappointment to the community. And I say she was tone-deaf because she kept using those gift/present emojis on Reddit, here, and on Twitter, as if to say the stream would feel like a gift to the player base. And if she's so tone-deaf that she'd try to hype up the stream knowing full well it would be contrary to our feedback, after having read and passed along that same feedback, then that's an indicator of which feedback the community team is passing along or the manner in which that feedback is being passed along to the dev team. And even at best, for the community team to be that tone-deaf means for sure, the devs are at least as tone-deaf if not more so.
If she had a hunch that this was going to be received the way it was then its possible that everyone there is out of touch. Just to be devils advocate in terms of Toon not Ubisoft. Even if she had a hunch and agreed with the community that this was a terrible idea and looks to be a poorly executed game. She wouldn't be able to say otherwise. Think about it if she says that she doesn't support the game and isn't proud to be part of the team that pushed this thing out. She would be fired.

I mean just look at what happened to Lt Col Sheller when he he questioned the way the withdraw from Afghanistan was handled.

No matter what job or position you have and the freedom of speech you may have on the internet, it would bear consequences from a job stand point.

If I had her job and had to deal with this. I would say the same thing because this is how I pay the bills. If she were to speak out and thusly be fired from Ubisoft do you think they would give a good reference should she go work for a new developer?

But she does and she is. And if she hadn't been excited, she would've reported the information and wouldn't have added the "squeal in excitement" comments and gift/present emojis. That's where she was tone-deaf and out-of-touch. I don't fault her for Frontline's existence, or for the stream itself, or for being excited about it. I fault her for trying to hype up a community for a stream she knew would disappoint that community.

Nothing against the individual but community managers in the gaming universe are pretty much glorified cheerleaders.

Yeah, maybe they pass along some input but their job basically consists of hyping up crap they don't care about and put on a happy face everytime an update comes.

This is an interesting point. I use uBlock Origin adblocker. I never see any YT ads or any ads. Unless of course the very act of viewing the vid makes them $? I dont really understand how it all works!

there were also comments on reddit that the dislikes seemed to be being manipulated downward. No idea if that is true or not as I am just not bothering to look at the Ubi vid.

.....others will join in like we always have and the threads will likely just get moved to Off-Topic as they normally do.

Yeah, I kinda feel sorry for her but in the other side of the token, she seems like a smart cookie so for her to be so out of touch with the whole community and the feeling towards what we want in a GR game tells me that the whole Company + the studio are tone deaf to the situation and they still think they have the correct vision and formula.

Only time will tell I guess and I doubt it will not make money but I have to wonder, do they not see that the competition is fierce, that their product is just mediocre at best and that they have 3 similar assets competing with each other?
