Man this is the kind of speculation that get my hopes up! I’d love to hear some news like this!Originally Posted by Megalodon26 Go to original post
I'll guess we all will not only be disappointet, but even angry. Remember when Ubisoft said they'd like to follow the free to play direction with their games. Like all mobile games where the game itself is free, but you'll be forced to pay to even play it.
I think they'll anounce some sort of PVP Online Shooter like Fortnite... in fact the exact opposite which we all would like to have
I sincerely hope that i'm wrong, but as said previously i'm staying pessimistic to not be disappointet in the end ...
If you keep your hopes as low as possible, anything better is a bonus. It’s just good sense really.Originally Posted by Evaste Go to original post![]()
Nah, being pessimistic is often a self-fulfilling state of mind. Pessimists are only ever happiest when something is going wrong.
I remember this kid at junior school who was a pessimist and like most only ever happy when the doom-mongering came to pass . Always said it would rain and we couldn't play football. He was happy 1 playtime out of 10 and I was happy 9 playtimes out of 10.
Good point, and when I go snow skiing, I'll always anticipate having a great time and even when I don't, its still a great day out. Granted, I know what to expect and what I will have with that day of snow skiing. With Ubi and Tom Clancy, I used to know what to expect and in general it was a quality game. Now its so full of halfbaked garbage I never would have guessed I'd see in such games that I'd rather just wait for the day Ubi proves me wrong and keep nonexistent expectations, because if anything, they have maintained a good track record of disaster and disappointment in their latest games and announcements.
Love that you said this. Breakpoint has been a really fun game! Despite all it’s issues I have loved it! I still play it all the time!Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
I only apply this to BP. I’ve been pleasantly surprised several times.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
Honestly, BP is a pretty good game now, but it creates a strange situation for me. If I play, it’s with a growing sense of frustration that the immersive feel from WL is missing, (along with the classic helo controls and animations). So I go back to WL, where I play with a growing sense of frustration that I don’t have the good features and game customisation from BP.
On balance, I still think WL is the better, more complete game, but each do enough to tarnish the experience of the other.![]()
Or it is a state of mind reached after continued experience of failure. I'd like to be optimistic, but that would fly in the face of the reality we have come to know and love from Ubi. Stands on Auroa beach looking at the Belt.... You still haven't done it.. damn you all to hell!!.. collapses to knees .. fade out......Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post

Respectfully, how does criticism expressed on a forum for a particular game / game company somehow define ones character? ....and then justify the labeling of a general group of people. Is that an attempt of dismissing our negative feedback. I can't help but see the irony here. Seeing the bad in people rather than perhaps that a lot of this is stemming from the passion a lot of fans have for the brand.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
I'm critical of Ubi in regard to their direction of the TC and GR franchises for good reason, but guess what? That doesn't mean I'm a cynical or pessimistic person by nature nor is that reflective of my overall attitude / character. It's due to Ubi's track record of either not taking feedback to heart and/or often missing the mark on their interpretation of what fans want.
There are a lot of other games I have often been very excited about. ....and yes, I get hyped for them because I feel I have reason to. I'm not a doom-mongering kind of guy when it comes to a lot of things in my life.
I've said it before but the next GR will define for me whether I think Ubi has learned anything from what led to BP's failure. If they don;t get this right, the franchise will be dead to me and I'll move on. In fact, it's BPs failure that is the only reason I'm here.
I was critical of FC5 but do you know why I left that forum? Because the game still did well despite my feelings on the subject. It was a battle not worth fighting IMO. Same with TD2 although that still wasn't as successful as they had hoped. On the other hand, I wasn't as passionate about the franchise.
GR is different and with BPs failure there came with it an opportunity for the community to finally be heard loud and clear. Unfortunately, Ubi has failed to engage with us as we had hoped so now we wait to see what's next and hope the feedback (both negative and positive) sinks in.
I respect your opinion about the game Blue but I just wanted to get that off my chest.
I like where Conan was going with this. I may not play it all the time because I got some other games I feel like playing. However, despite BP's flaws, as Conan said, I believe it's still worth looking into. Heck, I think GR 2 is the lowest ranking GR to me, but it's still worth playing. I guess it depends on how individuals feel about the game to see whether it's worth it or not.
