People are rightfully tired of the lack of communication. Over the last 4+ years, the most advance notice of an update being released, or what might get added, was a week. And the least amount of notice was the same day. The TU that included the Mercenary Mode in Wildlands, was announced in the morning, and available for download that afternoon. And the recent Tomb Raider event was live for several hours before Ubi even tweeted about it.

And it doesn't have to be much. A picture of a new location from a distance, some extreme close ups of a new weapon being added, or an action picture of Nomad wearing some new cosmetic it. Just something to drive conversations, and build up hype, without spoiling any of the story..

This. I'm tired of people defending Ubisoft's radio silence. And that's something I fault the devs, the production team, the marketing team, and the executives for, because none of them value communicating with the player base. Even if they can't release information, devs can engage with the community via twitter, reddit, or the forums, even to simply express gratitude for well-received updates. They could've at least done that for Wildlands, yet they never did. I can't trust anyone who says the devs care (sorry, AI_Bluefox) when they've never cared about engaging with the community. When you care about someone, you communicate with them. You at least make an effort to communicate with them, even if you find out that person doesn't want to communicate with you. The devs haven't ever engaged with the community at large. Plenty of other studios have devs who do. The GR devs haven't. The production team doesn't. The marketing team doesn't. The executives clearly aren't pushing them to do it. And because none of them have any interest in engaging the community, the community team has nothing to share with the community. If the studio can't show any real excitement or anticipation for what they're working on, and is unwilling to share that with the community, then they for sure don't care about the community being excited about what they're working on.

I'm tired of discussing the same thing over and over again when new people get into the game, I wish the CMs would bookmark most of the juicy ones and lock but link the new ones so it doesn't happen but then again, this forum barely gets noticed by the CMs so there goes that theory.

That or they are also tired of the same discussions that they prefer watching paint dry and wish the studio/Company would throw a bone to the game so people can't stop posting the same thing again and again for the same 3 to 5 hours that the content last but took 3 to 6 months to make. What an awesome GaaS this game is.

Sometimes I even think they don't know which way is up.

Out of curiosity, for those who've been here longer, is it just Ghost Recon particularly or Ubisoft across the board that doesn't communicate? I thought I've read that Division2 gets weekly dev posts.

I've been here a while (though I mostly lurked around), and have played AC games, For Honor, Division 1, and quite a few GR games. I've just noticed it with Ghost Recon. I can see the passion of the For Honor team because they're willing to communicate. Despite my strong opposition to the direction of the AC games, it's not hard to see that those devs care about their game (however flawed its vision is) because they communicate and engage their community. I never spent a whole lot of time with Division 1, so I don't know the state of that team's communication. But I know Ghost Recon and their lack of communication and months without updates, and that says to me that they don't care and don't have passion. No amount of first-hand accounts of select community members meeting the devs will convince me that they're passionate. Maybe they were passionate then, but I don't see it now. Maybe that's because of how they've been treated by their managers and execs, but the lack of communication and lack of engagement speaks volumes.

Been longer here does not necessarily means you know what's going on across all of the other forums, at least I don't think.

On the other side of the tokem, and like you, I have also heard (from some people posting here) that some other games do.

Now, speculating a bit, if your game stunk to high heavens, would you be in any mood to communicate? less so when perhaps is true that the Studio is proud of what they do but the Company sucks it up for them and they can't tell the world otherwise they are canned? On the other hand of this hand, it appears the Studio has the power, 100%, to do what they want to do so who is to say, why the crappola they are dishing out and why they are so fixed in not hearing about nor changing their mythological ways?.

It is a conundrum though, that is for sure.

This is exactly how it will be done and its how devs get the word out these days. Far easier to reach people that way. Billions of phones beeping and flashing notis.

And as TONY-NOVA suggested the news will probably be posted on Twitter first then trickle down to the other outlets either by way of the community team or more likely the fan base themselves
Naaaaaa, i'll be updating the forums when there is something don't worry!

Division 2 no longer gets dev post from this year. We even don't know about the next big update of that game AND we also don't have got information about the upcoming Free Division game. So same radio silence in the House of Division.

When your customers are concerned, annoyed, waiting or anything other than content then you should communicate more.

Just the simple act of letting them know you still remember they are there, even without something very substantive to say would be better than nothing. It's the first step I want to see and not just from the Com Dev team or a Twitter based photo contest. An update on progress or some form of formally issued news that was based on a purpose other than marketing would not go amiss.
