    Downgrade/not? Image comparison

Yet another Far Cry another downgraded ubisoft game imo. You're clearly seeing that people, chickens and dog. Also that yellow, brown colorish looks so awful. I hope they'll tone down that and add more blue, green color gradient.

What do you think? Downgraded or not?

Top is new one, bottom is old.

Hmm in my humble opinion i think that bottom image is stylized render for presentation and top one is build on Realtine Erngine fotage dont worry each user pc or notebook configuration are not the same for someone out there good laptop is just expensive luxury as for console i prefer to stay quiet there is so many diffent platforms an ubisodt tries to find some sort of golden middle they have less than month for release and dont forget that they want to sell quality products to as many customers as they can and kept them satisfied with what they get so technically yes with dunia we can achieve lush trees and high polyS on greenrock landscape foliage but we must admit that not every customer can afford that technological level

You could at least use a different website to upload the image, not a website for pornography. No, the graphics are not downgraded. It looks like a different time of day and the top picture looks like there used to be rain and it went away, but puddles of water didn't evaporate yet. If anything, it just looks there's dynamic weather and it varies on human and animal activity being present.

I'm getting tired of gamers who use the word 'downgrade', and then start lying to themselves by feeling justified for whatever they say. Worst of all, they don't even play the game and they think their unfounded complaints are genuine. People are still bringing out complaints about climbing radio towers in Far Cry 6 when they stopped doing this in Far Cry 5. They even made a joke about this at the beginning of the game. Stop using the word downgrade and try to at least examine the broader picture. There was another thread here that someone felt extremely disappointed by claiming there's 'only 14 new weapons' when there's at least 30 in Far Cry 6 if he even bothered to count. He straight up lies to everyone, thinks 14 is considered small, and feels like he's telling the truth when he's not.

Here's a video Ubisoft showcasing the PC version of Far Cry 6.

I'm not sure I agree that the colors are off. Looks pretty realistic to me. I never lived in Cuba but I lived on the mil base at GTMO cuba. Also how do we know what hardware rendered these?

Also, and this is important, in one of the UBI trailers they explicitly mention that PC players will be able to download high definition textures if your hardware can handle it. They did something similar for Far Cry new dawn and the download was over 10 gigs. The results in New Dawn were not photo realistic but very noticeable and rather breathtaking in places, especially vegetation.

Watch the PC features trailer posted above by @KrayZee_ should calm the waters.

    It's gonna be terrific.

now that's what i trying to say different hardware means different render speed and quality and it doesn't always mean any evil plan for adaptive degradation

It'll depend on the time of day (in game) and the image source, so these comparisons are pointless.

Aside from the original cinematic trailer (which was clearly not gameplay) the game has been looking decent but not bar-raising.

This really is a non story.

@krayzee_ Chill out. I did not even know that imgbox using for pornography I won't use it again. Ubisoft already doing those downgrades since far cry 3. I think their only games that did not get any downgrade is Assasin's creed series lol. Ubisoft one of the laziest companie for sure that everyone knows. For instence they did not touch machine gun sound. Still same as far cry 3. I have already watched all videos forum far cry 6.

I find the accusation "this game developer is lazy" to be a hugely uneducated accusation to be levelled at a game publisher.
It indicates a gross lack of understanding about game development.

Game developers make choices. If assets, animations or sounds are suitable for purpose, they use those and press ahead with other aspects of the game.

Similarly, there will always be a trade-off between graphical fidelity and performance and that 'level' will be balanced right at the end of development.
If a game has a visual downgrade after the first trailer, that just means that in practice it won't run at that fidelity once the final build of the game is assembled.

So it will be balanced for good performance at the price of nonsense articles comparing images of trees (before and after) that no-one will notice in a firefight.

I already mentioned this before in another discussion, and now I'm going to mention this again here. In fact, I'm copying and pasting what I wrote:

A lot of people say Far Cry 5's weapons sound more realistic than older Far Cry games. While COVID-19 restrictions may have hinder game development, video games these days are already reaching to the peak in realism that eventually we'll reach to a point where it can't get anymore realistic. Like you can't get more realistic than reality itself. I can already see completely different game engines that aim to be realistic as possible, they will eventually look extremely similar.

Recorded sounds will eventually reach the peak of realism, and it would be ridiculous if it sounds any different than reality. This also includes animation as well. As for reloading animations, I'm assuming they're going for the most realistic, most efficient and most professional way to reload the guns.

If an older game can reach a peak in realism, then don't expect newer games to be completely different.

I disagree that Ubisoft is 'one of the most laziest'. If you even bothered to watch weapon comparison videos on YouTube, you already know the guns in Far Cry 3 sound different when compared to Far Cry 4 and 5. The final retail version of Far Cry 3 has definitely better character models than the E3 build and there are significant changes that is likely to adjust towards consoles. It's called optimization, so games can run better and it reduces performance issues. There are times when developers release pre-rendered cutscenes and trailers, and Ubisoft is not the only company that create pre-rendered footage. In fact, a lot companies have made pre-rendered cutscenes since the 1980s and 1990s, and they tend to look better than in-game graphics. By suggesting the word downgrade, that's simply not true. Again, look at the broader picture.

Vaas looks a lot more detailed at launch than in E3 2011. In the stranded trailer, it's obviously pre-rendered.

again i will say who knows what hardware was used in the two pictures , or what video settings?? ..i can say for a fact yes the game will have an HD texture package

they usually do not release that till the game has

    1 gone GOLD
2 they have had several weeks if not months of testing done on different hardware
3 system requirements get released for even the LOW end stuff , and look at the requirements for gods sake

A GTX 960 4 gig GPU is a pretty fast lil card in 1080 P on older titles that allows for decent FPS for mid to high range settings in many many older game

now to do that your gonna need a GTX 1080

so yes they make the game with future vid cards in mind . quit crying about how pre release things look on a low end system

wait for the game TO RELEASE ..and see the benchmarks

also i got to PLAY FAR CRY 6 already .. and no it did not look bad at all even with the pre gold version i got to try and play for over 4 hours
    \
but i did not have access to vid setting nor did i need them as the game looked great with what i played with a GTX 1060 and my i 5 7600 K oc to 4.4 ghz with 16 gig of DDR 4 in 1080 P
i'm sure they have optimized the game a bit more + we will i am sure have new drivers from both Nvidia as well as AMD the day the game ships

just as all new games get

that's another issue how do you guys know what driver they used in either of those pictures? , was one for a PS4 , the other for an PC version RX 6900XT

hardware wise.................. there is a HUGE difference between those two vid chips

people say all the time about FAR cry 3 and how the pre release footage looked .. um it looks that good on on my 1060 now ..and my current card came out what 7 YRS after the game shipped , and was a mid range GPU i bought for only $239 meant for 1080 P

and yes FAR CRY 3 even looked good on my old DX 10 cards in DX 9 and 10 mode

had an AMD HD 5770 as well as even yes an old ASUS 9800 GT in 720 and yes 1440 X 900

with my GTX 1060 6 gig card i play FAR cry 3 in 2560 X 1440 DSR on ultra settings ..and it looks great

quit being picky and say downgrade or lazy ... till ya wait a few years and have a better GPU and system to run the game
