Go take a look at the FPV from Ground Branch where you can even see your boots when you look down and doesn't give you that miracle 3rd eye that TPV gives you.
Seeing your boots is what makes a game good? Oh dear, please never become a dev.

Nah, in his eyes and I assume logic as well, he is on point.

Sandstorm was originally supposed to have a campaign and they were working on it but NWI decided to stop at one point to focus on MP.

A funny thing about the coop....... This was supposed to be an addition to the PvP but it became apparent to NWI that it was much more popular than they thought it would be. I thought I heard that it was essentially a 50/50 split and to be honest, that's all I've been playing when I boot up the beta. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll get the full experience and be able to see the full potential until I'm able to play with my friends. .....I've been doing it solo.

I also got picked for the Hell Let Loose closed beta on PS5 which has run longer than they anticipated. In fact, the open beta is coming very soon. Now, that game is a proper hardcore shooter and a must to play with friends or an organized group otherwise you're likely to have a bad time. Sandstorm has dated graphics, etc. but the gameplay, sounds and weapons help let you look past that. ....Hell Let Loose, has everything including the graphics which really helps immerse you in the environment. The only problem is that it's last-gen only and all my other friends only have PS4s (they can't get their hands on the PS5). I'll be passing on that one unfortunately.

All of us are looking forward to Six Days in Fallujah though and I'm really interested in the procedurally generated map.

Maybe I'm caught up in the hype but I have a feeling Portal in BF will be a game changer if it is as exciting as it sounds. If they deliver on it, I could see a ton of possibilities to create various scenarios making the gameplay as arcadey or hardcore as people want. Portal is the only reason I will be buying BF as I think it will provide my friends and many hours of fun.

If we want to really to see a GR-killer on console, I think that may come in the form of Zero Six: Behind Enemy Lines. It is supposed to be a third person perspective shooter with a campaign and PvP. .....co-op as well IIRC. However, it is going to be a proper hardcore experience. Even the PvP will have one-life mechanics which I will assume will be in the form of a mode but it seems the devs are taking a no compromise approach.

If Zero SIx delivers on the promises, it may be the fork that some stick in GR.
Hello to you, Kean!! I have two questions for you about Insurgency Sandstorm. Is the co-op mode you are speaking of against AI, or is it against other players? Also, I know you were a big fan of Modern Warfare 2019 on Hardcore mode. How would you say Insurgency Sandstorm compares to that?

The co-op mode is against AI enemies.

I’m on mobile right now so I can’t make the link look pretty but this is a good example:

    Insurgency Sandstorm’s co-op reminds me a lot of GRAW/GRAW2 co-op on steroids.

Yeah, as Dan mentioned it's against AI. You can play local, alone against the AI (your team will consist of 3 other AI) or with other humans.

Now, this is where I'm fuzzy as I don't know if you are able to just play with friends on your team in co-op or if empty spots are filled by randoms via matchmaking. I still can't find an answer anywhere for this.

In fact, I have been sorely disappointed in NWI (the devs) every since the last delay for the console release when they were acquired by the Embracer Group. They used to be pretty open to the community questions about the console version, etc. and even now, there is very little interaction which is really just one-sided. No doubt a lot of this may have to do with them being acquired but my faith in them has dwindled quite a bit. .....not to Ubi levels but close.

Ah okay, very cool!! I'm gonna have to give some serious thought to possibly buying this game now, as that part of it sounds quite fun. That's a nice change of pace from the normal PVP stuff.

So, today is release day for Insurgency Sandstorm on console. I'm curious to hear what you all think of it. I'm still on the fence about getting it.

...I'd check out the other thread on the topic but I like it so far.
