I prefer FPS, I played Insurgency Sandstorm ages ago was not impressed at that time, full of whingers, cheats, and gun ho players rushing in. But will look into it again if Coop modes. For me PVP is crap, either very mismatched, or the regular wannabes using kiddie scripts, to ruin the game. For instance COD!!
Really want to see more Games with Coop and Campaigns, one thing UBI does, but do not think very well on storylines etc.
Also though popular Battle Royale Games are dismal IMO, and everyone jumping on the Band Wagon.
Arma 3 had it right, even though a very steep learning curve, and Graphics a bit outdated now.

It makes me laugh when people only play FPV games or only play 3rd person ones. Just play both and enjoy all the games out there.

I'm sure they've played both types of games at some point. That's how they know which type of game they prefer, in the first place. . For example, I'm not keen on playing FPS games, because the lack of peripheral vision forces you to be always be spinning the camera around, or risk getting blind sided. .

I can and do play both, but one of our GR squad can't play FPS games at all without getting motion sick!

Usually I prefer third person as the teamwork is better and so plays more tactically for teams, but we'll see with sandstorm soon enough.

Yeah, I'm like you in that I can and do play both, but I do greatly prefer third person shooters.

And you all are certainly right about some of the upcoming games for console. It's nice to see!!

I wouldn't be surprised to see a few players leave, but its not like everyone plays only one game. When it comes to Breakpoint and Siege, all of the people I have met and gamed with that originated on Ghost Recon 2 don't play the current Clancy games anyways, so for the people I know they have already moved on in terms of what they routinely play. Most of them are excited to try out Insurgency once it is on console as well and a few have pre-ordered it due to the lower cost and complete lack of tactical shooters available on console.

While I know I'll at least try the Motherland DLC, I don't expect the changes I want (improved AI, ballistics, and weapon handling) to be included and that doesn't even touch on the lifeless island, so I don't see myself playing anything more than the DLC storyline. I even doubt that I'll end up playing through the DLC in a handful of days or the first week it is released, because overall Breakpoint is just that lackluster and disappointing for me. If anything I'm hoping that Insurgency is a huge success for console so that it will hopefully influence Ubi to see what they could have had if they had stuck to being a squad based tactical shooter.

To each his/her own, that is where Options for both come into play from Studios that are passionate about their games and their customers. Black Foot Studios, the ones making Ground Branch have both options I do believe and if they can do it with Two Dollars and thirty seven cents, I am sure Ubisoft could it as well.

Well, I was one of those guys at some point back but if I wanted to play a shooter, it seems I was destined to have to play with clunky 3er person view movements so I do. Don't get me wrong, I also didn't like the tunnel vision on some FPV games but I also don't like the 3rd eye you seem to find yourself with when you play TPV so I had to live with both until now that Ground Branch has more open First person view, don't get me wrong, I still need to get used to the changes and they are vast but it is another or a newer curve if you will.

At the end of the day, I am flexible up to a point, if the game is good I can and will enjoy it solo or with friends, if the game isn't, no amount of pixie dust will make it fun to play or I will for 20 minutes or so and then jump to something else to make up for it.

Going back to the topic, perhaps it is a good idea that those games come in and kick Ubi in their behind, make them think, make them understand that they can no longer bamboozle people into paying full price for their Alpha version of a AAA game. Problem is that since they have decided to go F2P, I can't see them taking the time, money, man power and effort to create a good initial game and work even more from there but only time will tell I guess. Of course, by then we will be back here talking of what we would want or love to have for the next one.

I do hope though, that at some point in life and before I die, they can break from that behavior and start being a Gaming Studio and a good Publisher again.

Thats the problem for me with FPS. It gives me motion sickness and I'm all out of control to be honest. Now some third person like Gears of War at the time gave me motion sickness too. Over time I just got used to and comfortable with 3rd person. Now when I was younger I could do both easily but with age things start falling apart.

Easier said than done. It's not that I don't like FPS. Just can't play it for a long period of time. Maybe 15 minutes max. The only FPS that didn't give me problems was Back 4 Blood. I guess its due to you not moving much in that game since the Horde comes at you. Vice Versa against players or good NPC the motion sickness begins
