The sounds, the animations and more are just weapons from the last game. There’s really only 14 new weapons. They also turned unique ammo types (which you could previously change on the move) into a stupid RPG light mechanic.
This is extremely disappointing
This is sounds kinds strange. So what? What exactly developers should change to make AK look like a new gun?Originally Posted by DOOMguyonCrack Go to original post
Well we're playing as a different character, so none of the reload animations should be reused as everyone would do it a little different....Originally Posted by SofaJockey Go to original post
From what I can see so far, and from all the feedback from those who have played the first 5 hours, this new Far Cry is going to be a blast to play. UBI has taken the FC formula and brought it up to the next level. Just think about the choice of genders, and voice acting for each. Add to that the 3rd person cut scenes. Then the new villain. The largest map ever. And Machete!!!! I get it we as gamers always want more and more. Always more and more. And the truth? The vast majority of new games released today are primarily hype with bugs that are never fixed. I can't say what the future of FC 6 will be, but I personally couldn't care less if some quick animation is reused in all or in part. I just can't wait to Oct 7 so I can forget the world and just enjoy the immersion.
I'm getting tired of people who have extremely high expectations that is so unrealistic to the point that people like you think it's extremely disappointing.Originally Posted by DOOMguyonCrack Go to original post
A lot of people say Far Cry 5's weapons sound more realistic than older Far Cry games. While COVID-19 restrictions may have hinder game development, video games these days are already reaching to the peak in realism that eventually we'll reach to a point where it can't get anymore realistic. Like you can't get more realistic than reality itself. I can already see completely different game engines that aim to be realistic as possible, they will eventually look extremely similar. So far the only thing that needs work in graphics would be how fabric and clothing folds and how liquid animates. So far Ubisoft is great at animating oceans, they're still working on smaller form of liquid.
Using the same weapons is not recycling if the weapons are based on real life. It's not really a valid argument. Recorded sounds will eventually reach the peak of realism, and it would be ridiculous if it sounds any different than reality. This also includes animation as well. As for reloading animations, I'm assuming they're going for a realistic, efficient and professional way to reload the guns. When I saw Ellie in The Last of Us Part 2 handle her weapons on a workbench, I can tell she's a pro at it.
If an older game can reach a peak in realism, then don't expect newer games to be completely different.
You say 'only 14 new weapons' like it's a bad thing. 14 sounds a lot to me. If Ubisoft manages to get the license from real world gun manufacturers and doesn't fictionalize more weapons, then we can expect them. I am a firm believer that less is more, it's not really necessary to get more weapons if you think 14 is a small amount. I have yet to count all of the guns and new weapons in Far Cry 6, but 14 sounds a lot.
You could look up on YouTube, but you also have to keep in mind depending on recording equipment, camera angle, and so on.Originally Posted by SofaJockey Go to original post
I actually searched a video of someone who has played Far Cry 6 and they recorded showcasing the weapons in the game. As I compare the arsenal to Far Cry 3, Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 5, there's at least 30 new weapons in Far Cry 6 when compared to Far Cry 5. Perhaps 32 but 2 of which appears to have different names from Far Cry 5. They also renamed D50 to its real name, the Desert Eagle. Without counting signature weapons or unique weapons, it looks like there's at least 30. That's including the resolver weapons.
From Far Cry 3 to Far Cry 4, it looks like they removed a few weapons in the sequel but added about 17 new weapons. From Far Cry 4 to 5, the same applies here. They removed some weapons, but they added 32 weapons (Many of which are different variants). That's including the Vietnam DLC but excluding the Mars DLC because those are alien.
When Far Cry 6 comes out, there is potential that there may be more. So no, it's not 14 weapons. The creator of this thread is straight up lying.
