I've just read a topic in this forum, which of course got locked once two or three folks diferred from the politically correct opinion adopted by some bots and Ubi Community Manager, about the rights of lgtbi+ (and other organizations, all of them subsidized by your goverments with your taxes) and why Ubi needs to put that thing on the table when talking about the politics of far cry 6.
All I wanted to tell you Ubisoft is that, since you are so cool towards those organizations (again all subsidized with your taxes), and we can all suppose that the guerrilla in this game kinda emulates Fidel's and Raúl's rebellion against Batista (freedom and all that lies you see after 60 years anyway), character that is also very clearly represented by the character of Castillo..., did you know that your guerrilla of freedom, decision taken primarily by I guess your also fighter for freedom, Ernesto "Che" Guevara, took all gays and lgtbi+ people (by then) into concentration camps under the banner of "El trabajo os hará hombres" = "Work will make you men"?, did you know they were also assasinated in public trials in the middle of the Plaza Central de Copacabana?, does that "Work will make you men" banner reminds you of something, I mean the nazi banner on the concentration camps that read "Work will render you free"?
Have you also seen any improvements with the rights of lgtbi organizations and others after these 60 years since your "Guerrilla of Freedom" won?, pretty much the opposite right?, but that for everyone, not just for them.
You're just so cyinical with these themes Ubi that this can only mean you simply have double standards, depending on the situation, like every politically correct organization out there.
Now go lock this thread too, proving once more how much you promote freedom of speech.
What an excellent idea.Originally Posted by olalaquebien Go to original post
'Freedom of speech' is a civic idea and not without consequence.
That doesn't mean that private sites have to tolerate bigoted nonsense.
yah we know any speech that doesn't follow your lineal school of thought is considered bigot, fascit etc.
It is kinda ironic hat those who promote freedom of speech are precisely those who wanna kill it forever, and telling the truth of what happened in Cuba after Batista's fall (in particular to homosexual folks, most of them sent to concentration camps by Che Guevara) and making Ubi see that their double standards don't go unnoticed for many who still have a brain is also fascist, or bigoted according to some fanatic.
I respect your right to express your views. And if this was a political discussion board, the whole history of Cuba thing is an outstanding topic to discuss. The world is littered in every corner with damage done by tyrants and power hungry leaders through the ages. It seems to never end.
But for today, Far Cry 6 is just a make believe game. It attempts to blend in a degree of reality, just like FC 5 did with the religious zealot "degree of reality". I still remember many angry posts that somehow FC 5 was attacking mainstream religion. But at the end of the day these are just computer games, and especially in the last couple of years there is a great need to get our minds off the real reality of what we see in the news.
So again, your expression of a political view is ok with me, it's just another post some will read and some will not. Don't expect it to matter, these posts will all be forgotten in a few days.
Can't wait to FC 6 is released. I need to forget reality for just a time.
I mean, you look at pics of the dev teams and yeah...
It's all lip service. They just want to sell games and do that right now, you have to pretend to be woke.
All corporations are giving in to this madness. When anyone with half a brain KNOWS that the only thing corporations care about is making money.
And if they gotta pander to do it, pander they will.

Where did you get those concentration camps?
Do you understand the meaning of the word - concentration camp?
Che, Fidel and Raul did everything right!
(for that time, being a people of that time)
Work will make you a human, modest man or work will make you a law-abiding citizen - is written in the most prisons of the world.
The best minds of humanity were thinking about that.
What to do with criminals....
There're 3 ways: 1) To kill a criminal. Capital punishment. 2) Isolate criminals from society. He will be in prison with other criminals. Doing nothing, degrading, fighting with other criminals, humiliating each other....3) To work with other criminals, doing something useful for society and for themselves.
Among all these three variants the 3d is the most useful and effective for criminals, for correction.
What doest it mean - a criminal?
It's a person who broke away from the society. From a collective.
When a person commits crime - he feels that he is out of society, laws don't apply to him.
He is not a part of society. Not a part of collective.
The only way to give him feeling of society, to give him the feeling of collective - is collective work.
When people doing something together.
Working together with other people, step by step, a criminal joins the society again.
Even subconsсiously he became a part of collective.
Criminal should not only work for the sake of the work but he should do something useful for the whole society in general.
He should see the result of his work.
Something he could be proud of later.
The bridge, for example. The hospital, school......
"I did it as well. The part of my work is in this building. My efforts."
Every time looking at it, or thinking of it he will be more and more integrated in society.
Such people commite less crimes later.
This a fact!
The main condition for this - criminals shouldn't work too much.
Their working rights should be respected.
Their work should be well paid.
That's what "Gulag" was about.
Every country has its own "labour camps". US as well.
Just ask afro-americans or former prisoners.
The difference between Che's and US "labour camps" - Cuba's was very soft.
They were mostly playing dominoes there.
Such "labour camps" was more for high-ranking officials caught on bribes or other crimes.
"Don't forget you're also a part of society.
You should serve this society but not use your official position for selfish purpose.
Don't brake away from society.
If you broke away and stood on the path of crime........We'll help you return back and join society again.
We will help you feel that you're a part of bigger collective.
You're just a man like everyone else. No higher no lower."
Enslaved people and give the enemies of the revolution a reason to be accused in slavery - is the last thing young revolutionary gavernment wanted.
As for LGBTQ+ ......
LGBTQ+ was officially decriminlized in 1979.
In Cuba's society there was negative attitude towards LGBTQ+, in the majority.
Fidel Castro struggle himself against bigotry and negativity towards them.
LGBTQ+ rights have not recieved much attention in Cuba because there were many other problems.
"Anti-homophobia day" is celebrated in Cuba.
The very fact we're talking about LGBTQ here makes little sense to me. As i stated in another topic, in the game LGBTQ persecution could be a thing but i'd expect the rebellion and the discrimination to include far more than just LGBTQ persecution. I mean, we're dealing with a tyrannical maniac that hangs his citizens, shoots them on sight or feeds them to crocs to stay in power. I doubt that LGBTQ people are his main target.
I doubt it too.Originally Posted by WildCassowary Go to original post
There will be many plot and side-quest plot threads in the game. It being one of them seems likely but it's hardly centre stage.
There are two parts to the matter of inclusivity in any Ubisoft game.
1. The 'fact' of inclusivity.
That any game should be inclusive to its audience and that (depending on the setting) may include topics of inclusivity seems an obvious one.
The argument that such bigotry does not exist (in pretend Cuba) and therefore should not be shown is a lame one without merit.
2. The motivation for having inclusivity
To turn to why Ubisoft is inclusive or includes topics of inclusivity:
The most obvious answer is because they have a diverse audience, so it's a no brainer.
They are no more 'pandering' to anyone than having a male and female protagonist is pandering to men and women, that line of thinking is nonsense.
There is an argument that Ubisoft need to step up their own actions in terns of employment practices, that doesn't invalidate having an inclusive game.
In short I agree with OP, that this nonsense thread should be done with.
i tend to agree with what sofa jockey said .. looks like a troll post to me complaining before the game is even out
remember olalaquebien its just a freaking video game ..not real life ..and is in fact FICTION ..and i am sure when you load the game it will even say that fact ..
