Hell, I just want added support for cross-progression, forget the "remaster" the game looks alright to me. Spent just under $150.00 on top of the cost of the game. Played the hell out of Wildlands since I got it in 2018. Unlocked literally everything except for two emotes from Prestige Crates. Gold exo and all. Got the PC version recently... and it's not supported for cross-progression? It was made for PS4, XB1, and PC... I sincerely doubt the format of the savegame makes a difference. That, and even for a hick like me it's not that hard to set flags in files with different content formats while additionally having the loader parse savegame content according to what it's flagged as, i.e. the three platforms it was released on. And that's if there's even a difference between the formats, which again I seriously doubt there is. Even more absurd is how my purchases on XB1 (linked to my Ubi account) do not transfer over to PC when I'm signed in with the same account. The absurdity behind this, my God...
If cloud data weren't so restricted I would just copy the save from my Xbox, paste it into whatever folder Wildlands uses for savegames, and give it a shot. Trying to bust into my cloud saves will inherently be nowhere near worth the trouble if only to find out it doesn't work. Also... how the hell are the first two Watch Dogs games supported for cross-progression, but not Wildlands (at least from XB1/PS4 to PC)?
Again, I say forget the "remaster" and just do what Rockstar is doing with GTA V: re-release (AND UPDATE) it for the PS5, XSS/X, and PC. Add cross-progression if anything else (which, go figure, Rockstar has had for ages). I know all the lowly devs do what you're/they're told... look, I love Wildlands. But there's no way in Hell I'm dishing out another wad of cash just to be able to use everything I've spent so much time unlocking on a console that's sitting literally fifteen feet from me right now, typing all this up. Xbox account linked and everything, still don't have access to my trusty SR25 Jungle. I can deal with the sights not being properly zero'd even if the game were to be "remastered". All I want is access to everything I paid good money for with the assumption that, since my in-game store purchases are linked to my Ubi account, I would be able to transfer my save to a PC when I got one. Which I now do... but transferring progress? HAH!
They should simply take Breakpoint and recreate the Bolivia map. They could bring the same atmosphere from Wildlands (Rebels, Cartel, and Unidad) and maintain all the gameplay enhancements, character models, and animations from Breakpoint. They could release it as GR: Wildlands Special Edition and I would buy it in a heartbeat.
I was thinking about this the other day when I read about yet another Skyrim release. We now have Skyrim, Skyrim Enhanced Edition and now Skyrim Anniversary Edition.
However any WL remaster using a new/updated engine should totally and utterly revamp the gameplay mechanic and realism.
The forums are full of excellent suggestions I wish Ubi would listen....
