    Ubisoft title not loading in a playable fashion via steam (HoMMVI)

    Like many others I have Ubisoft purchases i've made that I cannot play. This title in particular (Heroes of Might and Magic VI) has failed to launch so many times for me over the years. Many times I just uninstall it and find another game. To highlight this, the email tied to the Ubi account is one I haven't had access to in about 5 years, so thats how long it appears it was since I last attempted to play the game I purchased a license to play.

    I'm reaching out to support for help because I would like to play this game again. I would ideally like to play it without having to 'find a version' of it that isn't managed through Ubisoft, and this is my attempt to remedy my product.

    I'm launching Heroes of Might and Magic VI via steam
    > get log in prompt for Ubisoft
    > log in
    > get small HoMM VI box
    > black screen with blue loading icon/animation

    - and this screen never resolves, even after 5 minutes - using ctrl alt delete I try to bring up the task manager, but the blank black screen dominates my window foreground and I can't put commands on the task manager to end the task
    - using alt+tab to select another window does not allow me off of the blank black screen
    - bringing up tiled windows so I can click the 'x' button in the upper right corner of the new blank, black window seems to work, however the new window never closes
    - I am forced to soft reboot to get control of my computer back

    what could be done so I may access the title I purchased?

    Hi there, Grizzam77. I am sorry to get back to your message so late. However, with the issue you have been running into with Heroes of Might and Magic VI, have you tried setting the game to run in Compatibility Mode to see if there are any changes in this behavior? I would especially recommend this if you are running the application on a PC using Windows 10. I would also ensure that your game, Steam, and the Ubisoft Connect client are installed on the same hard drive. If you have also exhausted all steps from our PC Troubleshooting Guide, could you please create a support ticket here with your MSINFO & DxDiag attached?
