Can’t you have this simply by not using them? You don’t have to pick a class, use any skills, or get any special abilities.Originally Posted by TONY-NOVA Go to original post
For the most part, I already do. However, there are some items that I wouldn't call special powers that are essentially locked behind picking a class when you allocate your first point. Night vision in particular. Is it vital? Arguable. Some items are not super powers. The perks that grant regenerative health, stamina, speed and anything else "unnatural" are the ones they should remove. I'm also in the camp that feels your role is determined by the kit you rock.. Your aptitude with a weapon or skill should increase the more you use it.Originally Posted by Virtual-Chris Go to original post

Keep it simple ... Quality over Quantity.
I agree with this totally. The magical super powers totally strip away what little semblance of a spec ops shooter vibe remains in BP. If they want to keep the super powers (to give gamers an option) than two things need to be done:Originally Posted by TONY-NOVA Go to original post
1. The game should let us disable ALL of it. ALL the hand holding.
2. The game should reward us more for completing missions without these super powers (access to the super power menu could be locked during a mission).
Coming to the skill tree - I would love to see an option to play the game without that. If you look at the skill tree in BP and max them all out its virtually a god mode that removes any semblance of a challenge. I've avoided going anywhere near them.
You guys looking for less super powers or a more realistic skill tree should search out the Immersive Guide that Mike Weeks and I put together (I’d link it but I’m mobile ATM). It has missions associated with some skills to obtain the relevant gear or tech snd outright forbids non-realistic skills. It’s very possible to play without supper powers - no dev required. Yeah, I don’t disagree. But you can play a minimal skills version of Breakpoint if you want. Choose the Pathfinder class which has no passive talents except a very sensible night vision mode and then ignore or avoid any skill or perk that doesn’t make sense.Originally Posted by TONY-NOVA Go to original post![]()
1: Better, tighte and controlled movement.
Right now, the movement in this game literally 100% kills it for me, makes it completely unplayable.
Simple things like trying to crouch and move behind a rock then turn my guy to aim is like trying to 3 point turn a car on a narrow dirt road. You cant just turn a little, its like the game can only move in full steps. Then panning with the mouse doesnt move the character, it pans the view, so as im crouched, trying to move around a base, or out in the woods, fighting behind trees, I spend soooo much time just trying to get my guy positioned in a safe way where im in cover, but can see around what im behind. All the while, trying also not to get up on top of what im hiding behind, since again, this game only seems to do full steps. There isnt just like stepping 1 quarter step to the left....its full step, or your guy doesnt move. Then I aim in and my view jumps to wherever my guy is looking vs where I am actually pointing my mouse, requiring me to reacquire my target. I spend ALL my time fighting the ******* horrendous control and movement in this game. It never gets old trying to walk in a building and my guy wont take just half a step left or right to walk through the door, so I wind up running into the doorway and getting stuck. THen I gotta back up like a ******* truck and reenter the friggin door. Its absolutely trash when im being pursued, or sneaking around and need to duck in somewhere quick and get hung up on a doorway.....
Then toss in how we cant MOVE when we prone, so thats ******* useless. Do something like prone out behind my APC so I can see under the vehicle to shoot, instead of walking my fat *** all the way around the vehicle....naw, cant do that, cuz prone and zooming means im now stationary. What cover mechanics are in this game are absolute TRASH. It LOVES to jump my shoulder view camera to stare into w/e WALL im hiding behind, instead of keeping my view over the shoulder I picked(And yes, I turned off automatic shoulder swapping), it still does it though.
Got other things like walking down a mountain, my guy cant decide if he wants to slide down the mountain, or just ******g walk down, so as I go down hills, im constantly stuck jumping between having control of my guy and not. THis literally got my killed a few days ago when I played. I was going down the side of a small hill to engage a couple guys below the hill and I my guy was falling like a foot, then stuttering, then giving me control back, then falling again, instead of just sliding down the ******* hill, or stopping and letting me shoot.....
Other things like the delay when hip firing, click fire.....then there is this stupid pause before my guy starts firing
Ive hated the movement in this game since day 1 and it hasnt gotten any better. Just totally killed it for me. Well, rather, its just 1 more straw that helped break that camels back. This game goes in the bin of games I would love to love, but just cant cuz of how garbage many of its mechanics are. Throw in the rather boring gameplay loop and terrible vehicle handling, along with the lack of more LMGs to pick from than just the select few that are here and it just becomes more annoying than fun. Game that had alot of potential, but missed the mark.
