It’s the minor elements that make a game better! Otherwise it’s just going to turn out to be ANOTHER point and shoot game! 6 games in and bound to still be using the basic elements like outposts, grappling etc, FC2 there was much more immersion, (minor element like cracking your thumb back into place after breaking it, which people loved) ends up just being lazy, and not worth the money, hence the question
ahh soo much to do why would ya wanna sleep >?
also in the games well with far cry 5 anyway .. how do you know how many days and nights go by >?
you counting the days .. i just play the game .. if it gets dark cool .. but if its light cool too
and yes some missions feel better with day light as you can yes see more if you ask me in far cry 5 ..no need to sleep ..just go out and blow stuff up .. that's what a far cry game is
immersion ? dude its a video game not a real life simulator
also you can wait till the game ships and watch vids online .. and by october 15th will all know more as the game ships on the 7th ..
Well all depends on how you play the game, prime example is ghost recon wildlands, on first release, you had know way to see or advance time, so if you wanted to do a stealth mission at night, (for immersion) you had to wait 25/30minutes real time just to be able to play that way, it was only when people complained, they did an update which allowed you to “redeploy” at a different time,Originally Posted by WID992007 Go to original post
Same basic principle applies, and immersion is the different between a game and a good game, a good game isn’t just about aimlessly going around doing task and killing people, if it’s immersive like red dead 2 for example (which is probably the most immersive open world game I can think of) they add something as small as seasoning your food lol which gives you an additional buff, which in my opinion is so well thought out and developed, makes for a 20x better game, but you are right, think I will just wait until the videos come out to get my answer

Ubisoft have rarely taken such a bold approach to game design ever since. Now it’s a lot more about pandering to the casual gamer to have mass appeal.
Being able to sleep. Advance time.
No regenerating health
Skinning animals (animated)
Weapons degradation / jamming.
These helped ground the player in that world.
It’s sad cos all of these mechanics could still be in there, and you could have options to disable them if you want.
Time of day actually had a impact on enemy AI behaviours. Therefore waiting til night had its tactical advantages …Originally Posted by WID992007 Go to original post
Not everyone plays the same.
Granted some people run around mindlessly guns blazing. Others like to take a more nuanced approached. The beauty of FAR CRY historically was it allowed for that. It allowed for both.
Finally.. someone who speaks my language, “these helped ground the player in that world” which makes for a better game 100%!Originally Posted by LaMOi Go to original post
