    Developer Update: Summer Goths

Welcome to all! It's me, Toller, and I’ve got all the latest news about Phone Destroyer for you to enjoy, including our next round of balance changes!

    Here is the Weekly Timetable

    WEEKLY EVENTS

Michael will be starting the week off for us with his two day Token Collection event because as the end of summer begins to close in, the Goth Kids are ready for their moment in the cold black sun.

They will also be turning up in the Chaos Mode this week. The Goth Kids will all be raised to tournament levels and they will all cost one less energy point than usual to play them on the battlefield. Additionally, we’ll be doubling your energy regeneration.

We’ll also be running a one day Mission event on Thursday before we launch into a Legendary Card Weekend Event! It will be Henrietta’s turn to sulk in the spotlight and she will be available in the solo path, so this is a great time to add her to your collection if you have not yet done so. Her event will also run for four full days.

Here are the cards for her events:

    • Henrietta
    • Michael
    • Pete
    • Firkle
    • Scuzzlebutt
    • ManBearPig
    • Terrance and Phillip
    • Mimsy
    • Hookhand Clyde
    • Nymph Nichole
    • Choirboy Butters
    • Chaos Hamsters
    • Sizzler Stuart

The point totals for this week’s events are as follows:

    BALANCE CHANGES

I’ve got an exciting addition for you all this month! One of our wonderful designers has offered to provide some insight on what we hope to accomplish with our balance changes, and I thought that would be of great interest to you all! I know I get asked quite often why some changes are made and so adding these notes from my teammate seemed like a no brainer to me. I hope you enjoy them!

    Stan of Many Moons:

    Health increased by 17% (272 to 319)
Power range is now 3 but units outside of the range will take half the power damage.
Power Damage decreased by -20% (200 to 160)
Charge Duration decreased by -35% (20 to 13)
    Description updated to match power

"Stan of Many Moons power has kept Lightning Bolt, Unholy Combustion and Transmogrify as default spells just to deal with him. With this small rework, we want the power to feel as Legendary as before with the focus on incentivizing playing Stan of Many Moons as a true fighter. He can still deal some damage to far away enemies, but the closer enemies will take more damage. With a faster charge rate, the power will be his default tool in a fight."

    Pope Timmy:

Pope Timmy now picks the cheapest card from your HAND. He will no longer bring back the last unit that fell in battle.
Energy Cost decreased by -17% (6 to 5)
    Attack increased by 19% (52 to 62)
    DPS increased by 19% (13 to 15.5)
    Description updated to match power.

"Pope Timmy, for a while, has had a very strong synergy with Call Girl making it the default pair for him. There were no easy and fair options to keep the power as is while keeping the Call Girl combo in check, and so we had to approach Pope Timmy at a different angle.

The new Pope Timmy will spawn a card from your hand. The power works the same way as Call Girl; however, Timmy will always pick the cheapest ally with a minimum cost of 3 energy. If there are multiple cards of the same cost, Timmy will pick randomly between them. Given the new power, Pope Timmy’s stats were upgraded so that he will always give value for the Energy spent.

We are aware that this causes a shift in the way Pope Timmy is played and hope that it still remains a favorite for the fans of the card. We will keep a close eye on how the new Pope performs and ensure that he will not be left behind."

    Mimsy:

Movement Speed increased by 39% (0.18 to 0.25)

"Since Superheroes were introduced, damage has become the dominant strategy. This has had a particularly negative side effect on slow moving tanks who would end up losing their health faster than a typical tank should.

In this patch we are giving Mimsy increased movement speed to let him complete his mission faster. We will keep an eye on the impact of this small change and look forward to aid more tanks in the future."

    Nathan:

    Attack increased by 33% (30 to 40)
    DPS increased by 33% (7.32 to 9.76)
AoE Knockback impulse increased by 150% (40 to 100)
Attack Knockback increased by 25% (80 to 100)

"We are also looking at our mortar units who attack slowly and from very far away. What a better target than Mimsy's friend Nathan?

Nathan will now be able to cause more destruction with his attack, causing increased knockback to all targets caught in the bombs' area. Additionally, an attack damage buff should get him closer to the standard we have introduced with recent rangers."

    Frontier Bradley:

    Health decreased by -21% (165 to 130)
    Attack increased by 33% (30 to 40)
Attack Buff decreased by -20% (10 to 8)

"Frontier Bradley has been hard to deal with at lower ranks. With these changes we are aiming to make his fighter buff less oppressive for lower ranked players while giving tools to higher rank players in the form of an attack damage buff."

    Ice Sniper Wendy:

Time Between Attacks increased by 11% (2.7 to 3)
    DPS decreased by -10% (20.74 to 18.67)

"Recently we gave Ice Sniper Wendy better tools for her sniper fantasy. This, however, made her power less useful as she could deal with her targets without it.

Now the time between her strong attacks takes as long as her freezing power, giving equal incentive to choose the power over attacks."

    President Garrison:

Aggro Range decreased by -20% (2.5 to 2)
Attack Range decreased by -53% (1.5 to 0.7)

"Last round we adjusted the way that melee area attackers' attack range work and we forgot our dear President Garrison. He will now also have an easier time getting more enemies within his area of attack."

    Manbearpig:

Aggro Range decreased by -37% (3.5 to 2.2)
    Knockback decreased by -17% (120 to 100)
AoE Knockback added (0 to 100)
Attack range increased by 40% (1 to 1.4)

"The area attacker changes also had an unintended side-effect for their aggro ranges. This should make Manbearpig behave a little better in a fight. We will be looking into Nelly and Super Craig as well for the next round of balance changes."

If anyone has any comments or questions about these changes then please leave a message! I’m happy to ask the team for any extra details that you all might be curious about.

Before I leave you, I’d like to let you know that next week’s Dev Update will be posted on Tuesday the 7th as my studio shall be closed for Labour Day next Monday. This is also the day that the balance changes will go live, so I’ll be back in time for all your first impressions.

Best of luck on the battlefield and have an amazing week!

    Hearts and Hugs,
    -Toller!

So instead of addressing call girl itself , you make Pope and any MBP or GWC deck useless and non playable. You and your developers are the absolute worst, prepare to lose even more of your fan base!

Stopping CG+Pope is a good Idea but thats not the best way. To Pope mbp was always fine and is now impossible.
Where's the problem: NO 2nd warcry!!!!

Probably the best balances changes in a long time! Good job!

This is good. People will obviously complain about pope. But it shouldn't be hard now to drop a pope timmy and get a 4 cost unit out of it, meaning you get a decent pope timmy card on the field for equivalent of one energy

    MAKE NELLY GREAT AGAIN

or can we at least get an explaination why her range and aggro was lowered considering she is 1 of the least used cards in the game
