Earlier GR games were great, but that's the way it should stay. All UBI has to do is let us have a Mission Editor, to make Breakpoint better and for free!
UBI need to concentrate on fixing the game, especially the Enemy AI. Like the Breachers! Their speed is plain dumb. What's the point in Night if the Enemy can see you anyway without Night vision?.
The Extreme Mode parts need fixing too. Especially Stamina, trained soldiers who can only run a few yards, before being out of breath?
But back to the OP, I would not pay for old titles updated. I would rather remember them for the fun we had at that time, and how great they were.

Nope. I played the hell out of those games, but they would not possibly hold up today... even with modern graphics, mechanics, etc. They were way too predictable and linear after you played through a couple of times.

Precisely why I told Sandiland that there needed to be some minutes or man power put into the AI and teammates. Then again the same could be said about WL after you have played it for long, you pretty much know the spawn places and/or even how many enemies the place will have and where they will be most of the time.

I would love the spawning to be random for sure.

Perhaps if they changed the format to an open world, thus would be less predictable

My fear then would be that all we will see if the type of enemies we see now and the type of Teammates we have now and my apologies but I rather have a mule carrying all kinds of weapons I could use and become a 1 man Army... if you catch my drift.

It has been said before how hard it is to code a decent enemy and teammate ai in an open world and history has taught us that UBI and the Studio making the TC/GR game will not spend more than the necessary time and money (aka Mediocre or less) to code the enemy and teammate AI that a proper TC/GR game would require so I rather have bigger sand boxes so the mediocre or less effort can yield better enemies and better teammates, at the very least and since I am attempting to play a Tactical Shooter and not an Adventure/Exploring/Survival/Fantasy shooter, it will come out to be a decent shooter and not a water down/childish and arcade shooter.

Oh yeah, I share your fears, my hope would be that we could get AI in a marriage level between MGS V and Wildlands (there are a couple of things wildlands did better, reinforcement system being one, I love how reinforcements in MGS V come from the nearest enemy outposts, but the reinforcements is in a really small number and they never repair the radios, so if you destroyed once, no reinforcements there or from there)

I'm torned between the opinions of Keltimus and ArgimonEd. On one hand you have planification (from itineraries to team selection) from the first Ghost Recons games and on the other hand those games had all a linear and scripted campaign.

Unless they "re"implement the elements, I sincerely miss, and create a non linear campaign it would be great. Otherwise, I probably won't bother with it especially if it's a FPS.

    Look, if ubisoft could make:
An open world GR which missions and story line is based on the first 4 or 5 titles and
Feature an AI like the one in MGS V that investigate your last known position and doesn't automatically knows where you are
Communicate between bases and reinforcement come from the nearby bases (thus creating an fun opportunity to make ambushes)
Enemies, shoot, move and communicate really well
Gunplay marries the mobility and resources from MGSV (resources being, flashlight as an force multiplier, smoke grenades, different launchers as second primary weapon and etc)
With the pleasing pistol fire rate and recoil animation from BP, and the rifle semi auto fire rate (meaning how fast you can shoot while on semiauto) from WL
Character customization with accurately modeled gear.
    ****, I'd buy it.
But if the next games are going to be half effort like BP or 75% effort like wildlands, I'm not buying anymore

WHAT IF they did a call of duty Style Remaster of the Original Ghost Recon 1 complete with desert Siege, island thunder and Tropical Storm DLCs all rolled in with modern Graphics

And released this at the same time as the new game as part of a belated 20th anniversary celebration

Would people be interested in this??
If they could do a bit of a rewrite, so they were far more open world and less linear, plus with a decent third person option, I’d be interested.

I'd be happy with a DLC of the old GR/Desert Siege/Island Thunder remastered maps for Breakpoint. Maybe they can give us some of the OG Russian/OG Ghosts remastered uniforms as part of the DLC too. But anything else they feel like adding after that is just a bonus for me. If they cant get the enemy AI to behave exactly the same as the original i'm ok with it just have them stand in the right place and give them BP AI behavior. If they cant have the 3 fire teams that you can command around the map i'm ok with that, just let it be me on Nomad and my 3 AI teammates
