    Favorite class in Breakpoint.

This thread is not to step on toes, rile anyone up, or anything. I was just wondering, classes are a thing in BP, as everyone knows. If you have a favorite class, which is it and why? Let me know.

My preference is based on realism. The Sharpshooter was my original fav out of the box if you ignore the sensor grenades. The armor piercing ammo is realistic as a class special ability. I didn’t like the panther spray (wish they came up with a jammer instead) and the toxic gas of the assault class was a non starter. The medic was ok, but the self revive is dumb (best weapon reward though). The engineer was meh. Probably not too unrealistic given the situation.

What I didn’t like is that most classes have this high tech stuff right from the start without any mission. You crash without even a hat or a handgun, but suddenly you have a weaponized drone or some magic spray? It’s just so unforgivably lazy that they didn’t have missions to acquire that stuff. There’s even a side mission to discover the magic drone spray that the Panther uses, but it’s not part of the requirements for the Panther. If you’re going to add RPG elements do it right, or don’t bother.

I actually put together an extensive series of missions to enable the Pathfinder classes ability to retask Azreals and get drones to drop supply caches. That’s my new fav now, but only if done with prerequisite missions.

I only picked a class because you had to. Hate the stupid system and all the bonus’s.

Classes make no difference really, the Challenges are stupid. Like Chris said the Medic Class you get a Great Weapon. But saying that Echelon Class is helpful as you can use it at beginning to shock Walkers Helicopter and Kill him if quick enough. Saves that stupid Mission to kill him at End, if you play the dumb Main Missions.
You do not have to use any Class, which is more realistic, but no skills can be chose, which most of them are also non realistic.
But saying that, If you play in a Team, a Class each, is not a bad thing, but only limit yourself to the idea of that Class. Like Only a Sharpshooter can Have a Sniper and a Pistol, the other Classes chose specifically too. It's a system we are using at present.
The Best way to play this Game is Ignore the UBI Missions and fantasy extras.

The only class I’ll use is pathfinder. It’s the only one that doesn’t have a magically regenerating ability. All in all, I don’t like the class system. A class should be based on your skills and the equipment you have. If your not a trained sharpshooter, you shouldn’t just be able to become one by equipping that skill.

Challenge-wise, yeah some of those aren't that good. Just as bad as some challenges in FS, if you guys remember. Honestly, I like the tech in GR games and many of the classes have some nice equipment. Some, like the engineer's item and ability need small buffs, probably the Pathfinder's drone, and Sharpshooter's piercing shot needs to do a bit more damage on drones regarding their armor. But onto business.
I like to dabble with what different classes have to offer. Heck, Echelon's Sonar vision, shock pistol, and snap-shot make it a better stealth class than Panther, and I'm not real big on stealth. Though my personal favorite, my go-to class is the Assault. More health and injury resistance, assault proficiency helps, True Grit is a good one, and unlike many others, I personally like the gas grenades. I don't use it that much for area denial, but it's nice to let the bad guys choke on it. I usually like sneaking up on unsuspecting goons, and catching them off-guard with them, it's a bit amusing. Like using the White Phosphorus grenades in older Rainbow Six games. One to I did use it for area denial, I must have wasted 6-7 Sentinel with it (M-M-M-M-MONSTERKILL)😂🤣. Head-canon, I think the True Grit is basically nanoboost, like Finka's from siege but better.
Anyway, that's just my opinion. Not to mention my favorite class. So, keep them coming.

I agree... I think specializations have a place in a special forces game, but they should be realistic, and skill/gear based as you suggest. They missed a huge opportunity with the premise of this game being that you start with nothing. They could have made a campaign out of just getting properly equipped... instead, they hand everything to you on a golden platter.

If we are talking about this game and this game alone, it was the pathfinder and only because of the night vision that it wasn't the same old green filter.

If we are talking about whether I think or even like classes on a Mature Rated M and Not K (for kids) proper Ghost Recon Game then the answer is a solid NO, NOT IN THE HOTTEST DAY IN HELL.

It has to be said just in case the DATA NAZIS think that what you are asking for is even more classes in the next GR Game ... Better safe than sorry and plan for the worse and expect the best

For me, I use the Echelon Class, strictly for the shock rounds, since it's the most effective way to disable any of the remaining drones, without alerting the base.

I use Pathfinder for the extra thermal lens and use the airstrike drone rarely.
