issues like what anticheat? mamma mia alibi beign italian is a meme ,but this is the first croatian in game, We never had any spotlight in videogames (yea shocking...) and theyy had to **** it up ,our people are sensitive when it comes to details, and our R6 Cro community is gonna be dissapointed how they made our operator THEY MADE EVERYTING WRONG even the fuking surname isnt croatian its serbian whic is a big disrespect,we fought against them for independence and now they are doing that
Don't get me wrong, I too think that there isn't much reason to not include a fully developed and known CTU for a given country that isn't already represented in the game, instead of adding them as Nighthaven operators. Still, that is just a title, a fictitious character, so there really isn't much to be bothered about. Or should I take it that MyNameIsFrancis would rather not have Croatia in the game at all? At the current state of the game, I wouldn't care even if Italians were soon to be added and we still didn't have Maestro and Alibi in the game, because I decided to not play it anymore. Still, I think that something is better than nothing. So you have a Croatian operator now, which wasn't there before. And for the sake of the (redundant) inclusiveness, it also happens to be a transexual operator (from what I've heard). So two birds with one stone.Originally Posted by STS.Bishop Go to original post
Never seen any of those. But it sounds sexual, am I wrong? Which would still make it more interesting than what the game is now.Originally Posted by STS.Bishop Go to original post
Was more referring to the beryl AK that zofia uses rather than the lmg. Youre right on the Aug it just got confusing cause all three decided to call it something other than AUG.Originally Posted by STS.Bishop Go to original post
Italy's and Croatia's respective inductions in the game were/are wildly different, so I fully understand Francis' soreness over this. Look at it this way:Originally Posted by ChainedHawk Go to original post
Italia was introduced with charismatic characters. Well, at least Maestro is, since he's one of the few operators whose personality is actually notable in-game... But yeah, both Alibi and Maestro have credible backstories (even though Ubisoft's painfully obvious left-leaning agenda made them unable to resist adding some "refugees welcome" subtext to Alibi's backstory) that justify their recruitment into Rainbow, proper or at least believable uniforms... In other words, their character design is fairly realistic, as things were back then.
GIS operators both introduced new firearms in the game, which was awesome and still the usual thing devs did back in 2018. Now I'm not completely opposed to new operators using the same guns as previous characters, but it has to make sense. Like, if Ubisoft was to add new characters to the FBI SWAT original contingent, it'd be logical that they'd use the R4-C and the 556xi or the UMP45. But here, Maestro brought the first portable LMG for defenders (and what a weapon!) and both ops introduced shotgun revolvers. Now I'd have loved a more proper, GIS-correct loadout (Italy has some of the best weapon manufacturers in the world and I firmly believe Maestro should've gotten the ARX160 as a second primary option) but at least we got the Beretta Mx4 Storm for Alibi.
Finally, both characters introduced new, fresh gadgets into the game. Quite frankly, Maestro instantly became one of my defending mains because he was such a perfect package for me: very strong gun and game-changing gadget, with him being a cool-as-hell character to boot.
All in all, I'd say the GIS ops made Italians proud. Now how does Osa fare compared with that? Recycled weapons (if the leaks are correct), cringe and characteristically un-military looks, un-Croatian name (according to Francis here), Mira-on-Attack un-original gadget, and where the Italians came in Rainbow representing a well-known elite Italian unit, she's yet another addition for Nighthaven. Nighthaven. Someone at Ubisoft is way too proud of his or her little creation, but to me this entire outfit just screams edgelord wet dream. And to rub more salt to the wound, if the rumors are true, she's trans. Now I'm no expert on Croatia but from what I know, they're a pretty conservative, hardcore Catholic country and they seem to pride themselves on that. Ubisoft's move just seem like a big fµck you to this culture. Strangely , they didn't pull this d*ck move on other characters from other certain countries and religions. Yeah I'm totally talking about Oryx, Nomad and Kaid.
As for [adult swim], it admittedly does sound sexual, but it's just animated parodies of video games and toy franchises. Here's one of my favorites, I'm sure you'll like it, too; it provides us with a stellar exemple of that thick Italian accent I mentioned. Matter of fact, it was the one I was thinking about when I wrote my previous answer. Enjoy, amico!
Jankovic is relative to absolute population actually a more popular name in Croatia then in Serbia and while I dont know about its origins its at least not completely random. I dont get why youd feel proud (enraged) by your countries representation in a game. Most Germans in video games have a completely over the top accent along the lines of "Hans get ze Flammenwerfer." and I dont care about it. Why would I?Originally Posted by STS.Bishop Go to original post
Her gadget might be awesome we have yet to see so its too early to judge that imo. Might work completely diffrent then Mira. I can agree tho that no new weapons, her being part of this weird merc unit and the default skin are a disappointment. About her being trans: I always love to see ultra conservative/religious people get triggered so I find this pretty funny on the other hand I am not too thrilled by it either but not because I am transphobic (that wouldnt be a valid reason even if the entire country thats represented is ultra catholic) but because it just doesnt fit into a CTU.
Why would you, why wouldn't you, that depends entirely on you and your perception. You don't mind bad representation of Germans in videogames, that's very cool of you but I'm pretty sure some of your fellow countrymen and women do not share that sentiment and would feel offended. I might not feel offended by representation of my countrymen with a heavy accent because, well, they do have a heavy accent when speaking English for the most part in real life, so that's more a case of art imitating life than an intentionally offensive or bad portrayal. I, for one, would and do feel offended by untrue and insulting representations of said countrymen and women in a game (or a movie, or a series), fortunately that is absolutely not the case in Siege.Originally Posted by Lovecrafts-Cat Go to original post
You're right about the gadget, too early to judge, yet... considering their recent history of recycling gameplay ideas, I wouldn't hold my breath for something completely new.Originally Posted by Lovecrafts-Cat Go to original post
Everybody got that? Lovecrafts-Cat here loves to see triggered conservatives and religious types (well except muslims, probably, for that'd be racist, you see) and is absolutely not transphobic, is that made crystal-clear to everyone? Thank you for your virtue signalling, I'm sure the good people at Ubisoft Montreal appreciate that. Mother Mercy, no wonder Germans get stereotyped as the worst of "cucks" nowadays. And I say that with great regret because I've met a lot of Germans that are very much the opposite of you, including my own grandmother.Originally Posted by Lovecrafts-Cat Go to original post
Funny how you believe that a trans person wouldn't fit in a CTU (and you're right, they wouldn't) but would be a good choice to represent Croatia, even though that country probably do not even recognize their transition and classify that as a mental disorder. Again, no expert on Croatia but if they're as conservative as most Eastern-Europeans, it's probably the case.
If you dont have the backbone to ignore stereotypical or outright wrong/bad depictions of your countries in games your selfestem gotta be pretty fragile.Originally Posted by STS.Bishop Go to original post
I take it from your reaction that you are religious and/or conservative ... no need to be offended buddy and make me cringe even more. I find it funny if any extremist gets offended (moslems, jews or christians, sjw, nazis, greens, conservatives, vegans, communists, lgbtq folk etc.) because of truth/something people have every right to do. Its no virtue signalling its humorous cynicism.Originally Posted by STS.Bishop Go to original post
I never said that the op will represent croatia well btw quite the opposite it has no buisness in a CTU game but the reason should not because Croatians dont like it but because it just doesnt make sense.
It's got nothing to do with self-esteem, or ego. I don't mind stereotypes when they're rooted in reality, because they can be pretty hilarious when they are. For instance, Italians are loud, exhuberant, family-oriented and do talk while gesturing. I've been enough times in Italy and with Italians to know that. Germans, however, are not cold, soulless, humorless enfineers like they're often portrayed in media. French people are not condescending, haughty, lazy, spiteful of cultures that are not French, and certainly not cowards. Americans are not dumb, boisterous a--holes devoid of culture and manners, and who can't discern good food from junk. Should I go on? Those stereotypes are based on limited experience with a limited amount of people, but certainly cannot be generalized. Yet they too often are and I profoundly dislike that.Originally Posted by Lovecrafts-Cat Go to original post
If anyone here is cringe-inducing, it'd be you, mein freund. Try to wiggle out of it all you want, your previous reply speaks for itself. As for the representation of Croatia, who on Earth are you to think that Croatians can't be good judges of what or who represent Croatia best? Because quite frankly, I think they know their country a little better than you do. How does it not make sense? If you feel sick, you probably are. If they feel something or someone doesn't represent them well, it probably doesn't.Originally Posted by Lovecrafts-Cat Go to original post
