    Violence in Far Cry

Hello, I have been a huge fan of Ubisoft games and the far cry series in particular, as fun as these games are though I feel there is one underlying issue that greatly hinders the experience for me and many of my peers. After every conflict, gunfight, stealth massacre etc. I find myself walking past groups of seemingly sleeping troops, the lack of visual feedback really kills any sense of immersion when it comes to aftermaths in these games. I want to feel the weight of my actions, at least to some degree im not asking for an insane gore system or anything that may push developers out of their comfort zone, simply visual proof of my characters actions, it could be a feature as small as having your already well textured bullet wound decals have an adjustable lifetime before despawning, ideally giving high end pc gamers the option to keep them permanently, something that tiny would increase replayability EXPONENTIALLY as it gives a much needed visual impact to your actions. A dream come true would be to see blood pools implemented properly perhaps spawning an animated pool beneath the last registered shot before death on an npc. I have small hopes that this will reach someone in a position to see through such ideas, but to see such features implemented into one of my favorite franchises would keep me replaying these games for as long as I could so I need to at least try. You guys have already provided an amazing base experience, but I know for a fact these features would serve as a selling point to a great demographic as most gamers find merit in visual consequences for their actions. Please get back to me should someone see any worth in my words, I would love to have hope for such advancements in these amazing games.

I can hazard a guess why they limit what you are asking for, and it is simply because of game ratings in numerous countries would cause issues getting the game sales there. By this I mean, you usually have a kinda of a trifecta of items that greatly influence the age rating on games and movies, they are drugs, sex and violence. As portion of violence is gore and all the related items of it, blood, wounds, severed limbs, and so on. Now when you are making a game you have to balance the three items in your game so as you don't exceed what most countries allow you to show. Usually if you want a certain rating or don't want to exceed a certain rating, you have to limit each of the trifecta a bit if you include them all. So in FC5, you have listed in the ratings, Blood and gore, Intense Violence, Sexual themes, Strong language, Use of Drugs and Alcohol.....meaning you have pretty much all three of the trifecta and thus are likely to get a much higher age rating than a game that only has two of them. So at Mature +17 rating, if they added much more sex, more explicit drug use, or more graphic violence, then likely the rating would be basically restricted and thus almost not able to be marketed in many countries.

So basically, they pushed the limit on what they can get away with and run the risk of upping the age limit for games too high to make it profitable to sell. Also as a side note, in many countries, violence or gore VERY quickly push the age limit up, thus greatly limiting what they can show and still sell their games world wide.

That's how it is in most of the games these days like Fortnite, Pubg etc.
