How to buy Far Cry 5 - before the discount weekend is over?

    Complicated scenario:

I tried Far Cry 5 using the Ubisoft "free weekend" install on Ubisoft Connect. Run fine (after an uninstall and reinstall) and I like it. So I want to buy the "Far Cry 5 Gold Edition + Far Cry New Dawn Deluxe Edition Bundle".

    Problems:

    1) I am a US resident and my credit card is from the US but I happen to currently be in a different country. When I go to the Ubisoft Connect store... it gives me prices in local money. Not good as I would likely end up losing 3-5% on the exchange rate.

    2) I don't even see this bundle in the Ubisoft Connect store.

... In other words I can't buy it during the 80% sale through Ubisoft as they are out for the weekend and even if they would fix my problems it would be after the sale is over.

    3) Everything looks good on Steam - prices in $USD, bundle available, so I am leaning towards buying it there (on the assumption that it will work), but... Ubisoft apps are notorious for failing to launch properly from other platforms.

    4) I fear that the current "free weekend" install from Ubisoft might interfere with a Steam purchase. I'd probably lose all progress made so far if I uninstall (a minor issue), but even then the likelyhood is that it won't install/run properly from Steam at first try.

My instinct is to buy from Steam and then pester Ubisoft support to fix whatever problems occur... as any problems would clearly be bad Ubisoft packaging on non-Ubisoft platforms.

    Suggestions/Advice?

Hey there XMdead. Thank you so much for reaching out about purchasing Far Cry 5. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed playing during the free weekend! You should be able to purchase and launch the game via Steam as long as you have your Steam account properly linked with your preferred Ubisoft Account. All progress is saved on the account, so that should also work as well. If you'd rather still purchase from our store, I recommend opening a ticket with our Store Support Team on our support site for further assistance with this issue with being in a different country right now.

I read that you can copy over the files and be done with it (you can probably google how), but TBH I didn't want to risk it and just replayed it.

Due to the earlier weekend experience it was MUCH faster to get to the same point. I did not regret replaying that portion.
