Previously I played a bit of the game during the Uplay+ trial and now we have another free weekend!
So I still keep the game installed from the last time and the game loaded up to the start menu and try to auto detect my hardware. then it crashed. From then on, the game will get to the black loading screen with the cross at the bottom running for 1-2 seconds and crash to desktop.
I have googled similar issues and tried out the followings without luck:
Clear ubisoft connect cache
Uninstall and redownload the game completely.
DDU'd the nvidia driver and installed it again, no luck either.
Run my card 3090 at stock to avoid OC issue, no dice.
I tried to check event viewer and the crash log inside the game folder but the file is blank.
I dont know what else to try, other games like watch dogs legion and Battlefield 1 are still playable.
Thanks for reading and hopefully i can get a solution soon.
Hello long2905. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing these crashes when attempting to launch your game. Just to confirm, are you attempting to launch the game via Steam? Or are you launching it from Epic or Ubisoft Connect? If you're launching from the last two, I recommend giving the steps in this guide a try. You can, of course, skip any steps that you'd already completed.
If you are launching from Steam, I recommend trying on another launcher, as the Steam version was recently removed.
I believe UBI Storm is talking about the trial weekend last week .. as steam had posted far cry 5 free for the weekend , but it was not supposed to be on steam that weekend freeOriginally Posted by moparfreak1967 Go to original post
only was supposed to be available on UBI connect and epic for PC
and only sold at a discount on STEAM for the weekend . as steam changes the install paths as well as save file location for the title,
which makes it not fully compatible with carrying your save file over automatically as was advertised
