The whole thing about Outbreak (and Extraction when it drops) was that it was a small fireteam vs. hordes of infected. Now, Containment certainly isn't devoid of fun and potential, but I agree that the "prothean" controls are clunky. Missing is so easy and so punishing when using the dashing ability. Skilled "human" players can just waltz around you and nail your a$$ while you recover...
Also, some of the art for the game is really... rushed? Awkward? Take this, for example:
What the hell? Did they intentionally want to humiliate Sam Fisher by making him look like a gigantic dork? Classy pose, Sam.
Why do IQ and Amaru have discreet breathing apparatuses that do not make their faces unrecognizable, whereas Zero and Blackbeard have their entire heads put into those monstrosities that evoke nothing of their original designs?

It sucks. The balancing is bad, the controls for the defenders are straight clunky, and the hit boxes are ridiculously broken. The melee range makes no sense. So easy to miss, yet you can still claw someone from 5 feet away and hit them? Also I think the one hit kill on attackers is too powerful considering I can dump an entire mag into a defender and only 5 bullets connect because the awesome hit boxes and netcode.Originally Posted by UbiYubble Go to original post
It's a rush job to hype extraction. Overpriced packs, terrible gameplay and crappy design. The I am probably not alone when I say this, but Ubi should have put this effort in to polishing outbreak up and bringing that back.

It took a while and i was forcing it to finish challanges, but now i like it in terms of fast game or two and then move on (like when im working and so)
The biggest problem which i had was that how its adjusted to Siege mechanics, it felt unbalanced and whacky at start. After developing some know-how and tactics, i dont see it that way
Best, for me, its the environment - i like that graphic and sounds, same as map rework. That does a lot - for example im now in beta of Back 4 Blood which is similiar game to Extraction (so it would be great if somebody invite me into extraction beta to compare those two *wink* *wink*) and it fails to build atmosphere, mostly because its environment was seen so many times, but there are other things too
Of course Containment is just one mode and one map, so it get repetitive, plus variety of tactics are limited due to same characters, but for what it is, its good enough. With extraction it would be diffrent, because that would be payed content
Wow. I never got notification about these responses. I need to admit my review was rash and did truly not apply. I would like to see this game mode as and addition. It does need changes, and 3 more maps (at least). Give the Proteans powers. One throw darts, one spit acid, one a massive lunge, one can spawn 3 "helper" creepy crawly spiders that seek out and attack the enemy. Mix it up. Maybe the acid can be spit on the ground as a permanent damage. blah blah blah, but you did good. I was wrong.
