this might be for every far cry game but i need to be sure. so I recently got far cry 3 on steam and it wont let me play because an error that says "a Ubisoft service is unavailable" I've contacted Ubisoft support and sent me an article on how to fix it but I don't understand most of it. if its something to do with my firewall I cant do anything either. all settings for my firewall are greyed out so I cant click on them. my computer uses Mcafee and it has a fire wall that windows uses. but I don't know how to switch. I've also been let into the game before and its fun as hell I just don't know how I got into it because I was getting the same error earlier. please help its past the refund point so I cant get my money back. other Ubisoft games work fine and so does the launcher. so im wondering why it only happens on 1 game. HELP
Hi Hmmm_okay585,
Thank you for reporting this to us, we're sorry to hear you've been running into this connection issue.
When you mention getting past it earlier, did it just seem to work without performing any steps?
In terms of the Firewall, you'd be best checking the Support article on McAfee regarding that, as it likely provides steps for using it over Windows.
Does this only happen when launching the game, if you open Ubisoft Connect on it's own will it connect?
Thanks for confirming that Hmmm_okay585
Can you go through the steps in this link, especially the part about port forwarding and let us know if you still have the same issue after this.
