Hello,
I really hope to find help here because I love the game but the problem I encounter make the game impossible to play.
First my config, it's a little outdated, but I can play almost everthing, I just need to set some option on low on some games.
- Windows 10
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB
- i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz
- 8 GB DDR 3
- HDD 1To
- SSD 120 Go (for Windows)
So I'm 10 hours into the game with the Nvidia experience recommended config (all on normal, textures ultra, textures HD off) and everything is smooth except one or two textures loading while in helicopter, in this config only 2.7/4 go of my Vram is used.
But just after the John Seed bunker is destroyed and the city re-open, I start with the mission where I have to drive Kim to the midwife to give birth, but every 10 seconds the game freezed to load textures (rotating stars on the top right corner of my screen) it made me miss checkpoints and I had to retry the mission. Just after, I am near the mission where I have to take back the widowmaker, I take it and while driving and break through the roadblocks, I encounter the same problem, freeze to load textures every 10 seconds (no loading if I don't move) and some roadblocks did not counted so I had to let myself die and retry. Since, everytime I use a car, a plane, helicopter, everything that make me too fast I Freeze and the game load textures.
Before the end of John seed everything was fine, the training of the plane of Rye had no freeze, the plane fight against John and no freeze either.
So I tried to put every option on low, using less than 2 go of the Vram, and the is still there.
I don't know how to resolve this problem, and if I can't drive or fly without freezing all the time, it's the end of the game for me.
Thanks in advance for your feedbacks.
Ok ... so you need a SSD, the game don't seem to use the Vram to stock and load the textures, but it load it directly from your storage device.
After cleaning all I could on my small SSD I transfered the game from my HDD to my SSD (thanks to the easy way to do it with Steam) and since, the game didn't freeze once. I put the original video settings back (normal and High) and the game keep a constant 60fps (vsync).
