Please for now, keep your faith and be patient.

    Hello,

I tried to resist the pulsion of making a thread and broke a promess I made to myself. The title is a copy/paste from Ubit00n after closing a thread about croissants.

Before anything, I'm not making this thread to "attack" anyone or anything close to it, but rather to have a real discussion between us (customers) and Ubisoft (essentially the CMs since no one elese will venture around here and I can easily understand why).

So, "Please for now, keep your faith and be patient.", I would like to seize the occasion to ask why and how we can keep our faith?

We have been asking for months now to have an honest discussion with the dev team, should it be just to know what is possibly achievable for them. It's not meant to bypass the community management team, who has to be part of it.

I asked directly the CMs if there was even the remote possibility to organise such thing, but I'm still waiting for a reply on their end, I can only imagine how difficult this job is, but nevertheless I can't but feel that we aren't listened too and erodes my faith every time a bit more.

We haven't had heard from the said team since the last "title update" that introduced a certain number of malfunctions (we just know that they are working on some of them). This without mentioning the fact that the teamates update wasn't what we expected neither (at least for a certain number of us).

I can't remember the last time we heard from the lead producer and lead designer. We don't even know who is in charge of the Delta company today, since Ms. Cordrey has changed position.

So, to get back at my first question: Why and how we can keep our faith? Can we (customers and CMs) have a discussion on this very point? Could the CMs eventually organise a exchange between us (customers) and the GR team, should it be just to know what is possible for them to do today?

Once again, this thread isn't meant to be an attack of any sort, if the CMs consider it otherwise or represent a infringiment toward the forum rules, please do close this thread, but I would like to have an explaination in this case.

    Thank you

I don't know what to think at this point other than acknowledge the seemingly evident fact that the development team and perhaps Ubisoft as a whole simply has no desire to communicate whatsover. It could be a Ubisoft culture thing. It could also be Ubisoft trying to do the bare minimum because their initial idea for Breakpoint as a looter shooter was rejected and because the legacy of Ghost Recon that people love and what it portrays somehow stands against their vision for the future. It could be many things and I don't think you can blame any paying customer, who only wants to see Breakpoint and Ghost Recon succeed, for being quite baffled and frustrated by the whole thing. How has to come to the point where faith has any part in the equation? It's not about faith or a praying hope that our Lord Ubisoft may bestow content upon us. It's about paying for a product and a franchise you love and receiving something worthwhile in return for a price tag that was anything but small.

I used to have the impression that Delta Company was going to serve as the link between the community and the development team, but frankly it feels like it may as well not have existed at all. The only thing related to Delta Company that springs to my mind was the whole M4A1 Survival farce that did not do the image of Delta Company any favours. Is that what it really is? A simple marketing tool so that predatory sales practices seem more palatable to the playerbase?

What baffles me most of all is the seemingly contradictory nature of Ubisoft's approach to Breakpoint. On one hand they know their initial idea for Breakpoint and its mechanics was strongly rejected and they keep supporting the game through new content, even if it's pretty scarse. But on the other hand they do the absolute bare minimum to ask and communicate about what players loyal to the franchise would like to see in order to improve and correct the game's shortcomings, what is possible to implement and how a brighter future for Ghost Recon could be created. If you want to support the game, do it wholeheartedly. If you don't, then let it die. It's one or the other because what I feel is most frustrating, and perhaps what is most frustrating to the playerbase as a whole, is floating around in this limbo in-between not knowing what to expect.

yeah it's hard to keep faith when titles like XD get revealed when we've been told ghost recon would shift directions having seen the complete opposite with the wolves wielding electricity guns and magic laser walls is disheartening

not to mention the absolute drip feed of news we've known about motherland and tomb raider for a while it's cool it's officially confirmed but come on were starving here

This, pretty much.Hard to have any faith when you see the things they put out.
PS: Splinter Cell is better off dead than getting the treatment R6 and GR got.

Why? Hasn't you guys' patience been rewarded by and faith in Ubisoft's commitment to do good by the TC fanbase, been reinvigorated by recent announcements?

I am a customer and a consumer. I don’t keep faith, if you produce trash then I play other games and spend my money elsewhere.

Not sure why Ubisoft can’t understand basic business sense. If you produce copycat rushed poor games, no one will purchase them.

Yet again we’re in a position of wondering what the future will bring. You’re only as good as your last mistake. That’s a phrase we’ve used in armed policing for years. (Except we wouldn’t use ‘mistake’). The last update was a miss. It didn’t deliver what most of us thought the bare minimum was to make it a success. Not by some margin. So now’s the time to give us a hint of what’s to come. (And why it’ll be better). Yet still the silence prevails. Add to this the reveals for R6 Extraction and XDefiant, and GR fans understandably become even more apprehensive. Yet still the silence prevails.

‘Keep your faith and be patient.’ That’s a tall order. My hope is that Ubit00n has some info on what’s coming and although constrained from sharing it, honestly believes it will be welcome.

But if that’s the case, wouldn’t it be easier for the company to actually communicate, rather than rely on us keeping faith?

This was my hope when I joined Delta. I actually said the Laura that I hoped the role would be a way of providing reassurance to the community. She even agreed. But whether her hands were tied, or she just expected us to parrot the party line, it never happened. I got virtually no more info than the public at large.
Delta is useful, especially while we have people like AI Bluefox on there, but it’s very under utilised.

Keep the faith? rotflmao, what faith? What grounds are there at all I should have any faith? What is this a fk'n religion where even though God never speaks to you , you need to keep spending time and energy on something that never responds. Piss off Ubi.
(not Ubit00n, just Ubi. Still love your humor toon. I think though you might want to escalate your job hunting skills.)

Quite a sense of humor you've exhibited in that title. I appreciate the spirit but it's delusional, like this article in Gamespot by Jeremy Winslow who has NO idea the meaning of the word plethora. He says that GRB, "will receive a plethora of new content throughout the rest of 2021." And he also has no idea when. Absolute BS. Who told him that? Who pays him? Ghost Recon Breakpoint by Ubisoft is a cautionary tale of How Not To.

Write the obituary and move on.

.....Ubisoft's PR approach in general reminds me of that passive-aggressive individual in an argument that tells someone to calm down after causing them to lose their cool.

I have no faith in Ubisoft at this point and my patience has run out. I'm convinced that continued failure is the only hope we have of getting a product Tom Clancy / Ghost Recon fans really want. That's the only thing that seems to get their attention.
