Since I’m currently experiencing the bug after purchasing the Kyoshin, but still being locked in the game, I decided to go try him out in the hero tactics mode.
Going off of my time training with him and some of the things that Freeze said in his video below, my ideas to slightly improve the Kyoshin would be the following:
- Increase his attack speed slightly, because even his most basic chains are way too slow, and can probably be interrupted easily. His damage is fine, so that doesn’t need to be touched.
- His hitbox needs a major buff because it’s just too small.
I now have full access to the Kyoshin, and my suggestions still stand. He needs a slight buff to his attack speed (he even kills a single pikeman too slowly) and a major buff to his hitbox.
Other thoughts/opinions:
- His unique tier 4 feat isn’t necessarily the most useful on its own; all it really does is allow you to get a free hit in. However, if paired well with good timing on your teammates’ part it could trap the enemy team long enough for everyone to get a hit in, or potentially even get a team wipe with one of their tier 4s, like catapult (which does have a delay)
- The devs definitely made him sound more powerful in the stream than he really is.
His attacks speeds are fine. He feels clunky because of the terrible chain link speeds between his attacks. I also went into training mode and that was the first thing I noticed.
But all in all, I would say that Kyoshin needs some buffs, because his potential is there, but his kit kinda falls apart because of his long recoveries and chain links. The devs should improve these aspects of his kit and tweak some of his damage numbers. I'm talking about the light finisher damage which is 16. It is way too high, considering that is is used in the same mix-up as BP's, but this one is undodgeable as well, while BP's light finisher only deals 14 DMG.
P.S.: It's refreshing to see that we have a new hero who needs buffs instead of being broken.
I should’ve been more specific, but when I said “attack speed” I did mean his chain link speed.Originally Posted by Csodaszarvas_G Go to original post
I agree with everything you guys are saying. I think his all guard and all guard follow up attacks should be a lil bit stronger tho. I think its too situational in team fights and he does not have a way to deal with unlbockables in a teamfight while doing those attacks. I think it would be nice if he was able to dodge out of the attacks during his chain or do something other than the heavy with the superior block property. Other than that I am very happy with the style of this hero even if he is a bit weak in some cases. Side note: I would love it if he got the armor set that tozen has with the helmet. I really liked the way tozen looks with the complete armor.
No worries. After reading your initial comment I realized that I should’ve been more specific.Originally Posted by Csodaszarvas_G Go to original post
Because of the Kyoshin’s chain link speed, he kind of sucks at defending in breach when it comes to dealing with the pikemen. Seriously Ubisoft, please decrease the amount of time between his attacks.
Also his stamina management and regeneration suck. He uses way too much stamina and gets very little payout (i.e., damage inflicted), and his stamina regeneration could be slightly faster. The endurance perk could possibly help with his stamina management, but I’m not at a high enough level to earn gear with that perk yet, so I don’t have a definitive answer at the moment.
All of that is good, but I also think his stamina is a problem, specifically with superior blocks. I don’t know if this is normal for a superior block character, but it feels like every time I do a full block counter it costs almost half my stamina. It makes it really hard to counter people after executing a chain. Just my thoughts though.Originally Posted by Csodaszarvas_G Go to original post
