Ubisoft: Best we can do is this generic copy&paste shooter game

I don't envy these developers positions. Imagine having a passion for games, working your way up through the industry over years and years... only for your ubi overlords to command you to make this pathetic uninspired cash grab of a game.

There's no way this game originated from a passionate place. It exists purely to sell cosmetics.

Will the game be as successful as the absolutely groundbreaking Hyper Scape?

Given the state of call of duty presently, an alternative that isn't battlefield sounds good to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'll always have my doubts, but a guy can dream.

If they don't come up with a change of marketing, ideas and targeting the audience, it will fall flat on its face after 4 weeks. They made the cheapest (all the assests are already there) entry to the shooter genre by ripping not only assets and whole maps off their games (that would be okay) but to copy/paste other games too, without bringing something on its own (so far) besides a colorful artstyle. Yeah and that exists only to sell cosmetics for kids, needing a break from CoD and Fortnite. They really, really need to bring something original. And besides the cringeworthy name and the disgusting usage of Tom Clancys Legacy, it is nothing original so far. "Gunplay is the most important thing to us!" - Trailer shows microwave gun and holo-shields. YES. Wonderful.

Always went to Ubi to get away from the cookie cutter shooters and now this?
I’m gutted. Every game I used to love is now gone. RIP Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell.
I guess Far Cry will be next?

In one decade (2010-2021), Ubisoft has become the most GENERIC publisher/developer with they games, and slap the "Tom Clancy's" in the title, this is just so silly with sir. Tom Clancy's.

    Great job, Ubi!

Calling this generic is incredibly short sighted. I'll admit, it threw me that this looked a lot like Modern Warfare.

But I see less that they're trying to make a Tom Clancys call of duty, and more that they all played the modern warfare games and that influenced their style decisions while making their own game.

There is clearly more going on here than just a run and gunner. Though, it's hard to tell much from a 3min video of scattered gameplay.

Can we keep the cynicism on the shelf until we actually get our hands on gameplay?

I completely agree with that last line. The test isn't far away, so it really shouldn't be a big issue to hold any major judgement until you have proper gameplay to analyze or a chance to play it yourself.

I'm actually interested because of this. I personally have gotten tired of the BS Call of Duty scene and Battlefeild is or hit or a miss with me so to see a 6v6 shooter come out that is different is exciting for me. It may be generic but there is a gap in the market and if they advertise right and the playtesting and alpha/betas go well, then we could be onto a real winner.

The idea is good but execution was not good and now it will be up to the beta tests for it to either sink or swim , the thing is I just cant see them releasing the game before 2022 especially when you have BF2042 dropping in late October and the COD will be after that
