    SBMM? Or Ping is King

I’m speaking for at least everyone I know that quit COD since WW2, but will there be Skill Based Matchmaking in this new title? Or will matchmaking be location/ping based?

At the very least will there be a ranked mode so casuals won’t have to worry about playing against sweats and try-hards 24/7?

SBMM can and will ruin a game no matter how great it looks and feels (multi-player in MW 2019)

SBMM is great. A much wider net for casuals, with a narrow net for ranked would be ideal.

I see people complain about sbmm only when they want to pub stomp, which makes newer players give up the game because they can't even learn the game properly.

    Sbmm

Coming from been a dedicated PvP player from Division 2 and also playing COD , the one thing I personally hate is going up against very laggy players either by having crap internet , players using a VPN to play on other country servers or local players using a VPN to intentionally get server lag ,

Anyone that plays competitive PvP games knows that players with high ping creates hit registration issues on the server which means your bullets wont register on the person your trying to shoot

This needs to be address in the game first and foremost before teaming players via rank

SBMM can take a hike. Make it ping based. SBMM will RUIN every single FPS shooters enjoyment

SBMM should mainly be for the ranked modes imo. Surely you can implement a loose variant of it for casual game modes, but there connection should be the main priority. In ranked, people will be more understanding for slightly longer queue times, but it still shouldn't go overboard. Constantly forcing players to have high pings can ruin the game's competitive integrity.

Ping, please, for the love of god. I've had enough of sbmm messing up my connection because it matched me with other players from god knows where, and it's ghost bullets galore.

I think that since the game has 6v6, SBMM is probably the ideal choice. Both have a place, but small lobbies is where SBMM shines. Larger lobbies can get away with ping based matchmaking because of odds dictating some good players will be on either team, where SBMM would struggle to find a bunch of people of similar skill. Skill differentials in small lobbies are very noticeable and it's much easier to find 12 players in the same skill range than 32.

Ping SHOULD always be king. Anyone saying differently isn't appreciating the detrimental impact higher ping can have. As someone who is decent at call of duty, I get matched consistently out of the UK and onto the other side of Europe. However my second account which I don't play on, gets me in the UK everytime. Ping needs to be king, followed by SBMM. I'm not against SBMM but quality of gameplay has to be over how skilled your match is. It's just logical sense.
