I honestly think that the Tom Clancy franchise should be handed over to Sucker punch studios. They made ghost of Tsushima using historical references and locations, imagine what they could do with the rich history of the Tom Clancy franchise. Just saying.
Yeah, they made a game that wasn't realistic to the actual time period. Looks like a great game, and they could theoretically do the gameplay well, looking at their animators. However, I don't think they're necessarily the right studio to handle Ghost Recon, and if Ubisoft somehow sold their entire Tom Clancy brand to Sony (it would have to be Sony since Sucker Punch is a Sony studio), it would just end up being a PS5 exclusive. What I would prefer is that Ubisoft try to recruit the talent that worked on Ghost of Tsushima, because their devs and animators are talented and their skills would help make Ubisoft's games better. Although, even if Ubisoft was able to bring them over, I'd rather they work on the Assassin's Creed series and make that better/more like the older games.
They can call any game TC, that is why they paid for it, personally speaking, I don't believe that anything out there right now would be a TC game, R6 has been made into a, well, I really have no name for whatever that is, Far Cry was never a TC game to begin with, The Division got the name TC plastered because, again, they can, Watchdogs same as TD and Wildlands tried to comeback to GR but they never finished it and Breakpoint, well, having weapons on a game a GR game does not make.
I have no idea what this F2P vision will bring to the table but knowing the history of Ubi and their cutting corners everywhere, it is hard to expect anything but another platter of different types and different genres of defecation.
Oh and by the way, can TC be considered a Franchise? I thought that R6, GR, FC would be considered or named Franchises.
