They limit the gore to not get slapped with 21+ over tags or banned from sales in some countries.
I dunno man, there are games sold in all the major markets with much more intense content than FC and the ratings aren't any higher. FC is already rated M, they may as well take full advantage.

I remember, that somewhere in the past someone tried to do a gore mod, and Ubi asked to stop. I believe Ubi has some sort of policy that causes them to avoid gore.

Personally I don't feel like it breaks immersion of the game, however it is funny when enemy flies around and is not ripped apart when a huge explosion takes place next to him or he is treatened with some high caliber stationary machine gun. I'd like to have gore in this game and CP2077 shows that it isn't a huge problem when the game is rated for adults, but I'm ok with the fact it isn't present if it isn't comfortable for Ubi. I'll probably still enjoy the game a lot.

Really? I doubt it. Recent entries like For Honor and Assassin's Creed Valhalla has dismemberment and you can use a tractor mulcher to run over enemies in Far Cry 5 and New Dawn. There's even an achievement that encourages players to do it. Personally I'd think it's about the game's performance on consoles. Cyberpunk 2077's performance is not great for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. I noticed that dismemberment has been toned down in Resident Evil 3 remake when compared to Resident Evil 2 remake, and I believe that the game compensates for environmental destruction caused by Nemesis and additional enemies onscreen.

If Ubisoft intends to add dismemberment for a future Far Cry game, I might expect it to happen in Far Cry 7. It wouldn't be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and hopefully they would take advantage of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. That and if all employees return to work on the games in studios than at home whenever the pandemic is officially over.

That's from a cutscene, not gameplay.

Correct. But it indicates attitude to bloody content.

The takedowns also seem quite 'wet'.

    And what @WID992007 said.
